The monument was built to commemorate the tragedy of the attacks in Kuta on October 12, 2002. Every year, a large number of people from Bali as well as other countries, gather at the monument to pay remembrance for the Bali bomb tragedy. The monument has a simple yet elegant architecture made from carved stones and has a huge marble plaque with the name and nationalities of those killed in the attack.
