HONORING:
John Heminway, Bryan Christy, JJ Kelley and Katie Carpenter, the creators of the groundbreaking National Geographic film "Explorer: Warlords of Ivory".
This dedicated team of filmmakers set out on a mission to expose how the ivory trade is funding some of Africa’s most notorious militias and terrorist groups. The film exposes the devastating effects of the illegal wildlife trade — now the fourth largest criminal industry after drugs, arms and human trafficking – but also raises awareness of the current poaching crisis and its global implications.
