The 23rd Annual Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF), the premiere film event on New York State's east end, will be held over Columbus Day Weekend, October 8th – 12th, 2015. HIFF was founded to celebrate Independent film—long, short, fiction and documentary—and to introduce a unique variety of international films and filmmakers to its audiences. The Festival provides film makers with a forum to express a wide variety of global perspectives, while the audience is presented with diverse and inspirational film selections.
HIFF announced that SPOTLIGHT will be the Saturday Centerpiece Film and CAROL will be the Sunday Centerpiece Film for the 23rd Festival. Both screenings will play at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

In an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s seminal novel The Price of Salt, Academy Award nominee Todd Haynes’ CAROL, stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. The story is about two women, from different backgrounds, who encounter an unexpected love affair.
HIFF announced new signature programs this year. HIFF launched the Compassion, Justice & Animal Rights program. Also, HIFF has renamed the morning talks to Winick Talks at Rowdy Hall in honor of late director and producer! Gary Winick. The Festival! will! also partner with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s PLURAL+ International! Youth Video Program.
HIFF will host an inaugural Awards Dinner celebrating internationally-acclaimed actress Emily Blunt, iconic independent film production company Killer Films (celebrating its 20th anniversary), legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles (receiving a posthumous tribute), and longtime HIFF board chairman Stuart Match Suna, to take place in East Hampton on Sunday, October 11, 2015. The Dinner will benefit the Festival’s year-round programming initiatives, the annual Screenwriters’ Lab, and the summer initiatives; SummerDocs and the Student Filmmaking Workshops.
Alec Baldwin and Randy Mastro have been newly elected as Co-Chairmen of the Hamptons International Film Festival Board of Directors. Stuart Match Suna, a founder of the festival in 1992, will be stepping down from his Chairman position after 18 years, but will continue to support HIFF as Chair Emeritus.
