Like most Gulf states, one thing Qatar has no shortage of is deserts, and careening around it at high speed (well, around 40 mph) in Land Cruisers and dune buggies is a pretty popular excursion out of Doha. The tour operators often throw in extras like falconry, camel riding, and sandboarding.
The UK Telegraph did a pretty decent piece on this several years ago: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/24-hours-in-qatar/qatar-desert-safari/
