Furrowing the western part of the Venetian walls, inserted into the “Conca d’oro” below Borgo Canale, the steps represent an alternative way to access the Upper Town, passing by ancient artifacts, vegetable gardens and nurseries. Almost all of the steps start off from the hill of San Vigilio and end in the area near the swimming pools. However, some steps can also be found in Lower Bergamo, including Scorlazzone, Scorlazzino, More, Fontanabrolo, Paradiso, S. Lucia and Bertello.
