Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London

Located on the Thames in Bankside, near London Bridge, one of the world's more remarkable historic reconstructions, in 1997 - of a theater built in 1599, burned, rebuilt, and finally demolished in 1644 - holds 1,400 spectators (less than half the original 3,000, thanks to current-day safety requirements). A must for literary travellers!
