I grew up in the town of Red Hook, some two hours north of New York City, and whenever I go back to visit, I invariably take a stroll in 120-acre Poet's Walk Park practically next door to our house. Originally designed by landscape architect in 1849. Intended to celebrate the connection between landscape and poetry, it includes both sunlit fields and forest, dotted with benches and a pavillion, all rendered in rustic wood.
