Fully completed in the mid-1400s with the demolition of various buildings and incorporating an older and small square, in the place where the grain and fodder market was once held, for centuries it was the representative seat of the city government. The home of the Venetian Podesta’ rises up to the west. The Civic Tower overlooks the square.
