The name, Placencia, is a common location identifier in Belize. There is Peninsula that is 16 miles long. There is an Island (Caye) just offshore of the Placencia Peninsula Point. There is the Placencia Lagoon, located between the mainland and the Peninsula.

Lastly there is the center of the Peninsula, called Placencia Village, where the multiple shops, groceries, the local tourism board, banks, sports fields, gift shops, a few beach bars and the elementary school are located, population approximately 1500.

Enjoy the Placencia Village culture at your leisure with a 15 minute sroll along the beach or a 5 minute bicycle ride brings you to the Village Center from Chabil Mar Villas Resort.
