Bonnie and Clyde Grave Sites

Between 1931 and 1934, the robbery-and-murder spree of Bonnie Parker and boyfriend Clyde Barrow made them two of the most notorious criminals of the 20th century. And while it was going on, they'd often stop back here in their home town to visit family and friends. This, too, is where you'll find their grave stones - although Bonnie's family denied their wish to be buried together. You'll find hers in Crown Hill Memorial Park, a 16-minute drive from DFW, and Clyde's is in Western Heights Cemetery, 20 minutes south of Crown Hill. Some local tour operators include them on their itineraries.

Downtown Grapevine/Vintage Railroad

Just 20 minutes north of DFW, this small city founded in the 1850s boasts a charming historic downtown along with museums and other attractions - most notably a tourist train consisting of 1920s vintage cars and locomotive running a route to/from the famous Fort Worth Stockyards. Special themed rides are available on St Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, and so forth, as well as others oriented toward jazz/wine and Thomas the Train.

Guadalupe Cathedral

Inaugurated in 1902, in what is today the city's downtown Arts District, the red-brick, Gothic-Revival Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe boasts more than 100 stained glass windows and is the USA's second most attended Catholic church.

Deep Ellum

East of downtown, but this area originally developed after the Civil War as a residential and commercial neighborhood, and in the early 1900s also evolved into something like Nashville for jazz and blues musicians, who flocked here from all over the South and Midwest, giving rise to icons such as Blind Lemon Jefferson, Leadbelly Ledbetter, Bessie Smith, and T-Bone Walker. Though it had faded by the 1970s, in the 90s live music made a comeback, and other bars/restaurants, shops, galleries, and entertainment venues as well as street murals and art sprang up in the historic buildings, making this again one of Dallas' hippest nightlife destinations.

For those who choose buses as their main means of transportation, it will be a regret if you skip these charming landscapes. However, Mu Cang Chai on two wheels is an absolutely different story! What your memorable Vietnam motorbike tours wish for is an experienced driver, and if this lucky person is you, don't hesitate, guys! Pack your travel bags, sit on your dear motorbike, overcome the most dangerous roads and hunt the picture-book sceneries of clouds and sunrise.

However, the road to Mam Xoi hill is quite risky and zig-zag, so moving alone at night is not an ideal option. Especially, if you intend to travel Vietnam by motorbike, it can cause limited visibility, making you more prone to have a serious accident. However, don't worry because you can stay at the nearby homestay the night before. Get up early the next morning to enjoy the fresh and clear air, glistening leaves that blanket the imposing mountains, and the breathtaking scenery at sunrise. When getting a motorbike tour of BM Travel, you will have a tour guide as the best companion to help you hunt for the stunning clouds. In addition, the homestay fee is included in the tour.

Choose a homestay with the view overlooking the terraces

In Mu Cang Chai, the most popular type of accommodation is homestay. You will have a precious chance to live with the local people and experience the unique rhyme of daily life in Northwestern mountainous areas. Most of the homestays are located in Tu Le and Nga Ba Kim towns.

Coming to Mu Cang Chai, you don't have to face the populated air of the modern city every day. Instead, you will find yourself overwhelmingly impressed with the magnificent natural scenery in the early morning. Made from the materials like wood or bamboo, the hostels and homestays of this land have a minimalist style and rustic design. These natural materials bring a charming and unique beauty to the houses here.

The most ideal destinations to contemplate the golden rice

Khau Pha pass is one of the first choices for backpackers to admire the ripe rice. As one of the four great peaks in the North, Khau Pha pass is well-known for the winding roads and slopes. In addition, La Pan Tan, Ba Nha Bridge, and Tu Le Valley are also the three most popular tourist destinations in Mu Cang Chai.

The best time to catch sight of the stunning Mu Cang Chai landscape is from 7:00 to 9:00 am. At this time, the first rays of the day begin to creep into the golden color of the luminous terraced fields, creating a superb natural picture of the ripe rice season.

Enjoy the specialties in Mu Cang Chai

Besides the picturesque landscapes that captivate people from the first sight, local specialties are the special factor that wins the heart of every visitor once coming to Mu Cang Chai.

Local pigs

Pigs raised in Mu Cang Chai villages are black pigs, also known as Lon Cap Nach (Under-the-armpits pigs). The H’mong people raise these black pigs in a rudimentary and wild way, pigs are left freely in the garden or on hillsides behind the house. Without stables, without care, pigs mainly eat food available in the nature such as wild vegetables, corn, potatoes, cassava, etc. Hence, their meat is often firm, fragrant and low in fat. Because they are naturally raised, this type of pig is quite small, only less than 10 - 15 kilograms. A 10-kilogram pig can be processed into numerous attractive and flavorful dishes such as boiled, steamed, or grilled ones. These mouth-watering dishes are served with unique vegetables in green forests like bamboo shoots, cabbage,  and so on. Especially, these tasty flavors will make the most demanding visitors satisfied with when they eat this meat with "mac khen" salt - a special and unique spice you hardly find anywhere.

Hill chickens

Just like under-the-armpits pigs, hill chickens are naturally raised on the hillsides behind the rustic houses of indigenous people. A small chicken is just over 1 kilogram, yet has firm, delicious, and fat-free meat. If you want to enjoy this juicy dish in the homestay, you should order the host as soon as possible because during day time, chickens freely walk on the hill. If you say him soon, he will catch the chicken and locks it up from the previous night. The next morning, he just need to process and cook this tasty food.

Tu Le sticky rice

When exploring Tu Le as well as other areas of Mu Cang Chai, you should not miss this fragrant sticky rice that is made from the rice grown on terraced fields.

You should try the new sticky rice dish (a newly harvested type of rice), which leaves the glutinous and aromatic taste on your mouth for a long time. After cooking, it might be still a little mushy because the new rice contains a lot of water. In case you find it a bit hard and dry, you are probably eating the rice harvested from the previous year.

In order to eat the newly harvested one, you have to pay more than normal. Anyway, Tu Le sticky rice deserves to be included in your menu during your Mu Cang Chai Tour.

Discover the upland markets

This is an opportunity for you to buy various typical mountainous specialties or sophisticated handicraft products. At the fair, visitors will gain lots of knowledge of the cultural identity of ethnic groups and discover the happy daily life here. Besides immersing yourself in the majestic natural space, visiting the fair market in Mu Cang Chai are  highly recommend to you when having a Mu Cang Chai Tour.

Choose a quality motorbike for a trip to Mu Cang Chai

Traveling to Mu Cang Chai, there is no doubt that you need a powerful motorbike. If you do not own a good vehicle, we recommend that you should use the motorbike rental service at BM Travel Adventure, located at 36 Duy Tan, Cau Giay, Hanoi. All the motorcycles here have outstanding features, ensuring a perfect journey. Especially, the great off road capacity is the most impressive thing of BM Travel Adventure's motorbikes, which meets the requirements of all backpackers.

There are many types of motorbikes here, but the two most popular ones for Mu Cang Chai tours are Honda CRF250L and Suzuki DR-Z400. Honda CRF250l is very stable because it is cooled by a radiator and the front suspension is upside down. As a 4-stroke motorbike, it has the enduro direction with the front rim 21 and the back rim 18. Hence, our motorbikes can help you overcome the most dangerous roads. Meanwhile, SUZUKI DRZ400 bikes, also known as the prince of dirtbike, bring the feeling of hardcore ride. The brakes are much safer than the CRF series. The rental price of a Honda CRF250L is $ 55 / day, and a SUZUKI DRZ400 is $ 75 / day.

Hopefully, our article will help you have a memorable Vietnam motorbike tour through the golden rice fields in Mu Cang Chai. What are you waiting for? Ride your beloved motorbike and start conquering the spectacular Northern roads right now!

Fun Stuff to Do In/Around Charlotte, North Carolina

9009414666?profile=original

North Carolina's largest city (1.25 million, metro area 2.6 million and the South's second largest after Jacksonville, Florida, Charlotte has been one of the USA's fastest growing urbs in recent years; a progressive island in a mostly conservative state; and a major U.S. hub for banking/finance hub, motor sports, and airlines. It's also got a good bit of history and culture including fine museums such as the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art , the Wells Fargo History Museum, and the Levine Museum of the New South. But here I'm going to focus on seven particular fun and cool activities and attractions in and around Charlotte - some urban, others offering a change of pace from the big city.

And incidentally, to take advantage of most of these, you'll definitely want to rent a car while you're here, and pick up a vehicle at Charlotte-Douglas Airport. I recently had a great experience with USARentalCars.com, but any website like Kayak or Expedia can find you a good deal.

BYOB Comedy Tour

Bring your own beer or wine and spend a hilarious hour and a half on the FunnyBus Comedy City Tour, a cruise around downtown Charlotte in a converted school bus with your guide cracking often sarcastic, comedy-club-quality jokes all the way (you can choose rated PG-13 or adults-only R). Definitely not something you'll find in most other cities!

Crowder’s Mountain State Park

About 45 minutes west of downtown, Crowder’s Mountain is a beautiful, 5,210-acre spread which is fantastic for hiking, camping, fishing, rock climbing, and canoeing Fish for your own lunch and cook it over the fire or bring a snack and take a hike. You can enjoy your food atop the eponymous summit and take in sweeping views over Charlotte and the surrounding countryside.

Wise Acres Organic Farm

Located in the town of Indian Trail, a half hour from Charlotte, Wise Acres specializes in "U-pick," meaning you can pick your own organic produce - in this case strawberries and pumpkins. You can also get wood fired pizza, organic treats, and more. For kids there are also wagon rides, a zipline, petting zoo, and other activities during its season, spring through fall.

Whitewater Rafting

Also a half hour from downtown, on the Catawba River, the U.S National Whitewater Center is the perfect place to experience some adrenaline in nature, with water sports that cover all ages and skill levels. That includes offers flat-water kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding as well as fast paced Class II-IV whitewater rafting and intense single canoeing. There are also a few land-based activities such as ziplining, wall/rock climbing, a ropes course, hiking/mountain biking, and winter ice skating.

Cherishing Cheerwine

Cheerwine
is a highly carbonated, cherry flavored soft drink, known as the “nectar of North Carolina,” that was first poured in 1917. A day trip out to the company’s headquarters in Salisbury, 40 minutes north of Charlotte, and you can try some of this yummy drink, as well as take a tour of this charming town and visit the local Rowan County museum.  If you visit in mid May (this year on the 16th), you can experience the Cheerwine Festival, the town's day-long celebration of this beloved libation.

Rock Hill Outdoor Recreation Center

This 250-acre public park in the town of Rock Hill, just over the South Carolina border 90 minutes from Charlotte, offers activities both on water and land, but without question the main attraction is the BMX Supercross track. There are racing options offered, or the ability to sit back and watch others race. This doesn’t take any true skill to try besides riding a bike and can be both thrilling and rewarding.

Premiere Disc Golf

Ever played disc golf? This isn't a question that most people would generally answer ‘yes’ to. Drive to Winthrop University, also in Rock Hill, and have a go at completing its multiple disc golf courses, ranging from beginner-level to the toughest in the U.S. It's played like traditional golf, except using Frisbees to hit targets instead of clubs to land balls in holes. and this school has multiple courses (the U.S. Disc Golf Championships are held here each year). Who knows, you may just discover a newfound natural skill!

Interesting points related to Dubai travel

Dubai is one of the seven Arab Emirates, a country located on the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East. Dubai has developed enormously in recent years as a tourist destination. Although Dubai initially primarily presented itself as a luxury travel destination, holidays to Dubai now fall within the budgets of a larger group of people. The increase in cheap airline tickets and hotel rooms has made Dubai accessible to a wide audience. Not for nothing that Dubai has become a hugely popular winter sun destination. Every year tens of thousands of Dutch people fly to beautiful Dubai to enjoy the wonderful climate in winter and the luxury that you can proverbial here. We write expressly "can", because even those who want to enjoy Dubai with a lower budget can have an excellent holiday here. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Dubai without having to pull the cut. On the other hand, those who do have a large budget and wish list can be pampered to the extreme in Dubai.

A first introduction

When I first arrived in Dubai, it was not the metropolis that it is today. My first time was in 1997, when there were only a few hotels on Jumeirah Beach such as the Hilton, the Sheraton and the futuristic Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Burj Al Arab was still the future and the places where nowadays immense projects such as Dubai Marina and Burj Khalifa could be found were desert. Over the years I have seen the city grow to what it is today on more than twenty trips to Dubai. People who had not been to Dubai for twenty years and would now travel to Dubai would not recognize much of it. Only the old neighborhoods Deira and Bur Dubai still largely resemble what they looked like some twenty years ago.

People who have never been to Dubai sometimes ask what they can expect. A question that is not easy to answer because Dubai travel is so unique that you cannot easily compare it with other cities. Dubai is primarily an Arab city, but more people live and work there than Arabs. The composition of the population and visitors has become so diverse that there is actually a multicultural society. Although you are dealing with some Islamic norms and values, people in Dubai are much more open-minded than in all surrounding countries and emirates. The projects realized in Dubai are sometimes even more impressive than you can imagine on the basis of stories, photos and videos. What you sometimes hear is that some people regard the lack of a real city center and a wealth of museums and historic buildings as a loss. Whoever needs that kind of sights can go to hundreds of other cities in the world. However, if you want to see a mix of modern architecture with traditional Arabic elements that together create a unique cosmopolitan atmosphere, you should definitely travel to Dubai.

3 Eastern European Stars for Budget Travel

9009398872?profile=original

Are you dreaming of exploring Europe but worried about the cost? Luckily there are several countries in Eastern Europe that tend to be significantly less expensive to visit than popular favorites like France, Italy, Spain, and Great Britain.  Here are three fascinating one worth considering:

Poland

Also culturally rich and one of Europe's least expensive countries to visit, Poland has a lot to offer both in the great outdoors and fascinating cities such as dynamic capital Warsaw, historic Cracow (with side trips to sobering Auschwitz and another astonishing salt mine, Wieliczka), and Gdansk. Meanwhile, its most popular region for nature and adventure activities is the Tatra Mountains down south, centered especially around the city of Zakopane; the Tatras are very popular for hiking, camping, skiing, and snowboarding.

Romania

Romania is among the most inexpensive European countries to visit, and with its long history and a rich culture certainly has many fascinating attractions to enjoy. Capital Bucharest is underestimated as a destination; it's quite lively and while much of it is modern, you'll find wonderful old Orthodox churches and Belle Époque villas tucked away here and there. Second largest city Cluj, in Transylvania, has plenty of museums, historic churches, and ruins - as well as great nightlife thanks to a large population of university students. It's also easy to take many daytrip excursions to places nearby. In particular, don't miss Salina Turda, an enormous salt mine that dates to the early Middle Ages and was reopened to visitors several years ago with fantastic modern constructions, attractions, and amenities in addition to its historic machinery and fantastical caverns. Also check out the fascinating sites in other cities such as Timișoara (Romania's third largest city), Brașov, and Sibiu.

Slovakia

South of Poland, smaller Slovakia is also packed with beautiful architecture, nature, culture including museums, wine country, and beer. Capital Bratislava is charming and highly underrated, as are other Slovak cities such as Košice and Banská Bystrica. If you love wine, check out the half dozen wine regions south and southwest of Bratislava, where in small towns like Modra (practically every house seems to have its own small vineyard. The Tatras Mountains run across the country's north, and are packed with marvelous flora and fauna; spectacular caves, lakes, and waterfalls; charming towns and villages where history and/or folk traditions live on; and one of Eastern Europe's best skiing/snowboarding resorts, Jasná.

Regardless of where you choose to go, find out the best ways to find and book cheap flights; look for methods of saving money on your hotel bookings; and think about opting for short-term apartment rentals. You can also save a lot of money by booking a travel package that bundles airfare, hotel, and transportation.
