Fallsington, Pennsylvania, near Trenton, New Jersey, has a great old Quaker cemetery. They did not belive in putting up headstones, but found the reason every other cemetery puts up headstones. When they would dig a new hole for a body, they would often find another body already there. They agreed that they had to mark the graves so that would not keep happening. They put in small headstones to mark the graves.
