While serving in the U.S. Army in Europe in the 1950s, he got the travel bug, came out with a travel guide for servicemen, and followed up in 1957 with…

What do you wear to Seven Magic Mountains?

  • Wonder what sort of snake it was. The Australian bush is a pretty tough place.
  • Great trip. We stooped in the Outback and Aboriginal clans from Maralinga and south came in to see Santa. We were crowding around and i felt something slither across my foot (thongs on too) and just thought it was a lizard. The behind me one of the teachers calmly said: "I've been bitten by a snake". And she had - there was a 'Flying' doctor on board and she was shipped to Port Augusta - couple of hours away and last heard she was ok. Much drama and the media couldn't stop talking about it. The snake went from about 40cm to two metres long! City folk!
  • Did the snake attack you, Bev? Glad you made it back in one piece!
  • Updated blog - Santa train trip across the Nullarbor Plain in Western Australia - the train went from Sydney to Perth. And we had a snake attack at one of the stops! http://getupandgomagazine.blogspot.com

  • Travel Features, I first skied Keystone when I was a child. Back then it was so much a family resort that my dad, a strong skier, was bored there. But as I grew, so did Keystone. Now there are back mountains and back trails and bowls enough for any skier. My dad was bored, but I'm not.
  • Just posted "Surprising Keystone: Old West, New Age, world-class, value packed for family ski" and slideshow:
