    Kerala Houseboaters
The Kettuvallam (houseboats in Kerala) was a large floating structure with high loading carrying capacity was a part of Kerala's culture and heritage over the past years. houseboats / Kettuvallam of Kerala could sail harnessing wild energy. A journey through the lagoon is interesting, passing through sleepy villages, busy boat jetties and vibrant celebrations. The boat glides across the shimmering blue waters with gorgeous green and fringed edges. The small cargo boats called Kettuvalloms are frequently used in the waterways for the above purpose. "Kettu" literally means to tie up and "Vallom" means " boats". The boats played a major role in the economic development of ancient Kerala, moving cargo and men from the very nook and corner of otherwise unreachable area, cutting across the length and breadth of the land

  • I signed up as well and have already been in contact with them.  It doesn't hurt to broaden our scope for work.

  • Hi folks, Matt here from Hit Riddle. Thought I could chime in and try to answer a few of your questions.

    • We've actually been around for a few years now, although our writers network has just been re-launched with a new site etc, which is probably why you've only just heard about us (we've not been too aggressive with the self-promotion until now) We already provide lots of decent content for plenty of travel businesses - you can check out the case studies on our site for more info.
    • Although the economy is still shaky you might be surprised how much demand there is for decent travel content from commercial travel businesses. Marketing budgets are still growing, and high quality, sharable content is becoming a central element of the overall marketing mix. That is good news for pro travel writers and bad news for all the junk content farms that have dominated the web for a long time.
    • If you sign up and don't hear anything immediately, don't worry. That's just because we only connect you with appropriate assignments. We don't want to bombard you with details of irrelevant assignments so we only send you what matches your areas of expertise and minimum rate per word. (And we do not/will not share any of your details with anyone else)
    • We don't take a commission on your work. Your content forms part of a wider social media/search marketing strategy for our clients, which is where our expertise lies and how we make our living. We just commission the content from you to help make that possible.

Sorry for interrupting your discussion, but I hope that clears up some of your questions! Thanks for your interest and for signing up, Matt.

  • If they take a commission or fee, I don't see it mentioned so far.  They're just launching and I joined, so it's one of those irons in the fire that's maybe worth having but I certainly wouldn't expect instant results with editors, certainly not in this economy.

  • I just registered with them. So far, no assignments forthcoming. I'll post here if something happens, but, frankly, I don't hold too much hope.

  • I just heard of it today. Do they take a commission? Or are writers working for them and they in turn sell the work to the client?

I have too many deadlines pressing to wade through all the material.
