Whether you're a blogger or working PR then this new project is something you'll want to get involved in.
The Blogging Standards Association at www.bloggingstandards.com is an open discussion on the state of online marketing with regards to blogging and social media.
The use of blogging and social media as a marketing tool is so young there are very few benchmarks by which to work. With the help of people on both sides we plan to offer guidelines and standards that all are happy with.
We're hoping this will help encourage better working relationships and understanding between serious bloggers and the PR / marketing departments of any companies with online marketing strategies. There are many topics to be covered and many angles from both sides of the fence too.
You no doubt have some strong opinions of your own and some experiences worth sharing with others. I'd like to extend an invitation to guest blog on the site and have your say. Feel free to check out the site and come up with some ideas you'd like to post about. Let me know by message on here or by filling in the form at http://www.bloggingstandards.com/guest-blog-with-us with more details.
We've launched a forum on the site as well with aspirations of regular discussions on hot topics. It's early days so expect more content added regularly from a host of guest bloggers and forum members. Hopefully the forums will prove a helpful place to vent frustrations and create some solutions. Your support in getting these forums active is very much appreciated.
If you have any questions let me know. I'd love to hear your feedback on this project and hope you find it useful.
Kind regards,
Matt Preston
