Hey David,
The "D" is my former home and there are so many things to see and do and a few must sees within short driving distance from the airport are: Greenfield Village, Detroit Institute of the Arts, Henry Ford Museum. If you travel to the DIA, you'll be very close to Greek Town and the waterfront. Hope this helps. Enjoy yourself!
