Hi all,
Hope your 2010 is off to agreat start.
I'll be in Istanbul in April for IDE and have 3-4 days available for an exotic getaway. Only restrictions are that it has to be somewhere where there isn't a full-blown war going on and it should be ssomewhere Turkish Air files. They have a super interactive website and they fly to tons of off-the beaten track locations, but i don't have time to research them all. Tiblisi,Georgia caught my eye. Has anyone been? Any hotel/dining/site/guide recommendations?
Or other places in the 'stans look interesting. Or?????
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply. I've already been to Capp and agree w/ u that it's totally wonderful. One of my all time fave places. Need some suggestions outside of Turkey.

Have you considered visiting Cappodocia, Turkey? It's incredible! I flew Pegasus to Kayseri airport, but I think Turkish Air goes there too. Here are some blog posts I wrote about my experience there in July.

Hi Janice, yes I have been to Tblisi Georgia and it was beautiful. It was quite a while ago so I am sure things have probably changed a lot but I remember the people being extra-friendly. At the time I was with an InTourist tour group so hotel accommodation was already pre-arranged but I remember it wasn't great and the food they gave us was so sparse most people on the trip had to go out and eat again afterward! But a fun trip anyway. I would recommend it as a place to visit. What is IDE I wonder?
