This is the first year that O’Falmouth Village, MA will change its name for the day to honor the wee bit of Irish in all its businesses, but the St. Paddy’s Day traditions go way back in this town.  We’d love to have you join us to experience the festivities as the whole town rolls out the green carpet to celebrate the shamrock! It would be a great time to research a story for 2015 or 2016.  All media with an interest in writing a story for 2014, 2015 or even 2016 are invited join us. FALMOUTH VILLAGE, MA PAINTS THE TOWN GREEN FOR ST. PATRICKS DAY

Everyone’s a wee bit Irish in O’Falmouth Village on St. Paddy’s Day!

Falmouth Village, MA – While the saying is that everyone’s got a wee bit of Irish in them on St. Patrick’s Day, nowhere is it truer than Falmouth Village, MA. More than a bit of blarney will be found here as Falmouth Village changes its name for St. Patrick’s Day to O’Falmouth Village and rolls out the green carpet from the Queens Buyway down Main Street.  Home to Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, one of New England’s top ten Irish Restaurants (according to the Boston Globe), businesses up and down Main Street will join in Liam Maguire’s fun and extend the St. Paddy’s Day celebration to the weekend of March 14-17^th with greet dot sales, window decorations, special Irish menus,  Irish music and dancing, all topped off on March 17^th with beers and bands at Liam Maguire’s and a Hat Parade down Main Street’s sidewalks.  

Book a stay with one of the participating Falmouth B&Bs and you’ll be treated to an authentic Irish breakfast, cooking demonstrations featuring Irish recipes, and surprise treats.  Then take the shamrock tour to find the pot of gold. This is THE winter weekend to visit Falmouth Village, MA.

Many of the businesses throughout Falmouth Village will change their name for the day to include an O’. O’Palmer House Inn  is just the beginning! Falmouth Village celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a one-day change in name to O’Falmouth Village! 

Retailers throughout Falmouth Village will add creative St. Patrick’s Day themed window displays and hold green-dot and St. Patrick’s Day sales.  Look for creative Irish takes on internationally-themed menus like the Corned Beef Ravioli served at O’La Cucina Sul Mare last year and the Irish Margarita, with a hint of mint at O’Anejo Mexican Bistro.  Never heard of bangers and rashers?  You’ll find they are delicious additions to the menus at local inns and B&Bs, not to mention in O’Falmouth Village Restaurants over St. Paddy’s Day weekend.

Friday, March 14: Liam Maguire (solo) – dinner then Shanangans 9pm until closing.

Saturday & Sunday March 15 & 16: Traditional Irish music session with Rossacroo-Na-Loo, pure Trad (as traditional Irish musicians refer to their music) starting a 3pm.  Liam Maguire, for early dinner set.  Shananagans 9- close.

Monday, March 17:  Liam Maguire’s high holiday: Rossacroo-Na-Loo, Roger Gamache on bagpipes, Danny Quinn, Liam Maguire, Shananagans and The Brian Boru Pipe Band.  Music goes from 1pm to 1am!

• Sunday March 16, 2014, 2:30pm:  Irish Step Dancing Demonstration at Museums on the Green. 

• Monday, March 17, 3:00pm: Hat Parade down Main Street sidewalks to the Village Green – bring your zaniest hat and costume and join the fun down Main Street.  All day and all night fun, food and special events at businesses throughout Falmouth Village.
