Boingo HotSpots

Having a disorienting experience: I'm in the Delta Terminal at JFK, and for once I got on Boingo without any trip-ups or ultra-slow connections. Travel media, what's your experience with Boingo?

  • Thanks for the tip about Gogo flights, Lauren; I'll bet a lot of people will be happy to see that.

  • Madelyn and Nancy, Boingo does not work on flights; that's yet another service. It does work in airports (a few months ago I would have suggested that it doesn't work even where it works) as well as certain other places, and it costs me $9.95 a month.

    • Hi there! This is Lauren from Boingo. So sorry to hear you've had trouble connecting. :( We'll be happy to look in to what happened and try to make things right for you. Email lsanyal@boingo.com.

Actually, you can get online using your Boingo account on Gogo flights! Just find the Roaming Login button, select Boingo from the dropdown, and enter your username and password.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

  • I haven't looked at Boingo in quite a while.  Like Madelyn, I looked at it in the early stages.  Rather than go with a third party like that, I'm opting to add the wifi service to my cell service, putting it all on one bill, but that's to happen when our youngest leaves for the Air Force this summer and our bill will be dropping considerably when he takes over his cell phone account.

For flying, I generally go with GoGo.  Does Boingo work inflight?

  • I did a trial awhile back, and at the time there was not much Boingo around. I was never able to use it at DFW.

Does it work on some planes now?
