Anyone Know Any Top Travel Blogs Listings?

I'd like to get my travel blog listed and ranked to show potential advertisers.

I've discovered:

Invesp: http://www.invesp.com/blog-rank/General_Travel#ultimate

Where I rank 55th!

Postrank: http://www.postrank.com/topic/Travel

Brendan's Adventures: http://www.brendansadventures.com/top-100/

Does anyone know of others?

Great to connect with you here. I'm keen to meet and help other travel bloggers - say hi @Getinthehotspot on Twitter if that sounds good:)

Happy travels!

  • Dear Annabel,

Hi, I don't know about blog listings but I did see that you have a travel blog and that you love to read. If you would be interested in reading my novel Cruise Quarters -  A Novel About Casinos and Cruise Ships I would appreciate it. It is the #1 Cruise Ship Novel on Amazon and usually the #1 or #2 casino novel. If you could please e-mail me at carabertoia@yahoo,com. I could send you a copy.

I can also link your blog to my blog The Best Travel Novels.

    Thanks Cara B

  • Hi Benjamin, I love in Australia so not going to the show:( Thanks for the link, will check it out. I want to concentrate on ads, sponsorship and maybe a book if I ever have time to write one on my travel blog:) I have Successful Blogging for my main business of web design and copy but you are so right - you have to diversify that income:)
  • I tried ti get into the site this morning but no success; must either very busy or down for repairs.

PS. I tried again and got in this time...thanks

  • Thanks for these lists!  @Mary Jo - invesp shows most of those statistics you mention.  I don't think it hurts to be on those lists - getting media presence is usually a good thing.  I am sure private blogs are somewhat subjective, but when you see the same blogs on multiple top ### sites, there is probably a reason.  Advertisers can always check out the site and make thier own judgment.
    • Hi Julie,

The lists have helped me - once you get listed that is:) Great to meet you here. I checked out The Travel Beat:)

  • If you want to be taken seriously, you will not refer potential advertisers to these sites.  They are subjective lists without any meaningful basis.  Sure, it's nice to be on the list (and I am) but it's just a giant clique and you do yourself a disservice by pointing to them.

Here's what advertisers care about (some will place more reliance on one thing than the other, but I'll list them all for your consideration):

    • Page Rank
    • RSS Subscribers
    • Email subscriptions
    • Twitter Followers
    • Facebook Fans
    • Newsletter subscribers
    • Klout score
    • Alexa Rank
    • Compare rank
    • Quantcast statistics

Any of these can be gamed, but they are widely recognized by the industry as substantial.  Top 100 lists by private parties are not.

    • Hi Mary Jo,

Loved the feedback. it's interesting as I have all those things listed on my media kit apart from the last two: Compare rank and Quantcast statistics so I'll add those.

But the one thing one client hangs onto more than anything is the Invesp Rank. I guess for the non-techie it's easy to understand but I agree, there are drawbacks as not all sites are listed.

Great to meet you here, I checked out Travels with MJ:)
