I just uploaded the free Landmark West! Walking Tour by New York City's Upper West Side preservation group, Landmark West. It's not an audio tour -- you have to read the texts -- but it's exceptionally chock full of architectural details, from the highly informative to the amusingly anecdotal.
Each site is clearly described by address, architect, date of construction, style and type of structure, façade material and landmark status, followed by a short contextual essay as to the building's significance. One may also choose additional sidebars at will to learn some "fun facts", architect bios, explanation of architectural styles, history of the particular street location, etc.
A very convenient self-guided tour of one of the city's most architecturally rich neighborhoods. Just please please please be mindful not to read and walk at the same time. :)
The app is free.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
Requires OS 4.0 or later.
