  • THE APARTMENTS AT THE ATHENAEUM WEEKEND RATE EXTENDED
    UNTIL MARCH
STILL…PERFECT FOR A LONG LONDON GETAWAY
    …STILL £299

LONDON – The Athenaeum, an award-winning luxury property located in tony Mayfair, is offering a £299 (approximately $486) per night rate based on a three night weekend stay for a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night in their apartments. These exclusive rates are subject to availability and valid every weekend until the end of March. One-bedroom apartments at The Athenaeum are usually priced at £750 ($1221) per night.
Travelers to London, whether it be families on vacation or couples wanting a romantic getaway, can enjoy the elegance and privacy of an exclusive London residence as well as the full services of a five-star hotel at the tastefully appointed Apartments at The Athenaeum. Linked to the hotel by a private corridor, the apartments offer guests all the facilities of the five-star property: concierge and housekeeping service, a fully-equipped health club, free WiFi and complimentary snacks from the mini-bar, a restaurant serving quintessentially English cuisine as well as the relaxing Garden Room (perfect setting for afternoon tea and light snacks) and the Whisky Room.
The 34 luxury apartments, set in an Edwardian mansion block, are decorated in two distinct styles. The Classic British Collection consists of apartments designed in a classically British fashion, while the apartments in the Modern British Collection are all individual and unique. Their décor ranges from cool contemporary to sumptuously seductive.
    FAMILIES AT THE ATHENAEUM
Vacationing families will find a stay at the Apartments at The Athenaeum both comfortable and cost-effective. “Ordinarily, a family would book at least two standard hotel rooms,” notes General Manager Jonathan Critchard. “By booking an apartment, which can easily accommodate a family of four, guests can enjoy the privacy and convenience of a sitting room and separate bedrooms, at substantial savings,” he adds. By using the washing machines and fully-equipped kitchens, families can save on the costs of meals and laundry. What’s more, children eat free at The Athenaeum.
Another option is to opt for room service, dining in the hotel restaurant and same-day laundry and valet service. Complete housekeeping services are provided, leaving families free to enjoy their vacation. The kids’ concierge can arrange everything you need to make life easy and fun for everyone, from groceries to tickets to the coolest kids’ shows.

  • KRUGER PARK WALKING SAFARIS - SOUTH AFRICA 90822.html
    4 Days @ R4575 per person or 5 Days @ R6100 per person
    Enquire now

In the mornings we set off at first light after a snack breakfast of rusks and coffee or tea. Enjoying the cool morning air we may walk directly from camp or else use a vehicle to get further out. Your ranger will decipher the tracks and signs left by the passing animals during the night. The thrill of walking, tracking and getting up close to one of the creatures of the bush is an unforgettable experience. On the walks there is a lot of emphasis on all the interesting things seen such as trees, plants, insects and birds. A big breakfast is prepared back in camp and then there is time to unwind and siesta during the heat of the day. After lunch is served it is time to head out again.

The afternoon activity is a walk/ drive combination, looking for tracks and activity in other areas. After the walk we drive to a beautiful spot in the Reserve, where we’ll have sundowners while waiting for a stunning African Sunset. As the diurnal animals and birds anxiously get ready for bed, the stage and sounds change and a whole new world awakens. This is when we connect the spotlight and night drive back to camp, looking for the nocturnal creatures that are so rarely seen during the day. Back in camp a hearty supper and a warm campfire will be waiting for you. After a long day in the bush there is nothing more rewarding then to sneak off to bed and listen to the sounds of the night under a blanket of the overwhelming African stars!
