The Great Synagogue of Budapest which dates to the mid-19th century, is the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Located in the Jewish quarter of Pest, it can seat 3,000 people, and was built in the neo-Moorish style, featuring decorations based upon Islamic models of North Africa and medieval Spain.
