On our visit last December, our tourist van stopped for a panorama near the town of Zerkten (which as best I can tell has a population of around 18,000). I´ve tried but so far haven´t been able to find how this town fared in the terrible earthquake last week. Of course I hope not too badly, but what I´ve been hearing and seeing from the region isn´t good.
