Marking 73 years since it became the island's first hotel - founded by French aviator Rémy de Haenen on St. Jean Bay midway along the north shore, and not ten minutes from Gustavia - the Eden has been kept luxuriously up to date in its facilities, amenities, and just 37 rooms, suites, and villas (especially after an extensive re-do following damage by Hurricane Irma five years ago). Said amenities include three eateries overseen by Michelin-starred Jean-Georges Vongerichten; an exquisite spa; an (of course) chic boutique; a fitness center; and activities for kids. There's no pool (though several of the villas have their own), but the beaches on these gorgeous turquoise waters are more than enough to satisfy almost everyone. As you can imagine, it's also pretty pricey, but you can score a room in the low season in the low $200s.
