Oil rich - and thanks largely to its current sultan the Arab world's most progressive land (although this is relative, and there's certainly a dark side to Qatar, as well, such as its treatment of foreign workers and its LGBT citizens). These 4,400 miles (11,000+ sq. km) on the Persian Gulf have not just the mix of ancient/modern that is capital Doha but other historic sites, beaches, ecotourism, and more.
