Golf Press Trip to Kaanapali, Maui opportunity in January 2010
Aloha …
Kaanapali Beach Resort Association will host a small group of golf / travel journalists during the 2010 Wendy’s Champions Skins Game at the Royal Kaanapali (North) Golf Course, January 16 and 17.
Kaanapali Beach Resort consists of five world-class luxury hotels and six condominium and vacation-club resorts, each with its own unique style. Besides golf and the most exciting shoreline on Maui, a paved beach walk connects visitors to the best snorkeling spots, open-air restaurants, beachfront shopping complex and Whale museum.
This will be a group of of 4-5 participants. Itineraries for each journalist will vary and depend on his/her story interests. Ideally, the trip dates are January 14 – 19 but it can be a bit flexible. The trip includes:
• Round trip coach airfare from a major North American gateway to Maui
• Hotel accommodations for 5 nights in Kaanapali
• Rental car for 6 days
• Welcome dinner
• Media passes to the tournament
• 3 Kā‘anapali-based activities (such as snorkel, sunset sail, luau and golf at the Kā‘anapali Kai (South) Course)
A firm assignment would be a best but good track record for placing golf - travel stories post visit will also be considered.
If you are interested, please let me know by August 14 of your story assignment or placement potential.
Join us in Israel this November to explore the country's multi-faceted and intertwined spirituality and history!
The Israel Government Tourist Office - Midwest Region is hosting a group of journalists in Israel, November 15-22, to explore Israel as one of the world's most important centers of religion. Religious tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors in travel today, and it makes up a substantial percentage of travel to Israel. In fact, Israel is one of the world's oldest religious tourism destinations, welcoming religious pilgrims to its land for millenia. On this trip, we will visit the major holy sites in Israel, in places like Jerusalem and Nazareth. We will also explore some of the less well-known places - such as Tzfat, the birthplace of Jewish mysticism; and Haifa, the home of the largest Baha'i Temple in the world.
The trip is open to journalists and freelancers writing for publications with circulations of 50,000 or more. Travel and religion newswriters preferred, but we are open to other types of journalists. The trip will include roundtrip airfare to Tel Aviv, accommodations, tour guide and transportation, and daily breakfast and dinner. For more information or if you are interested in participating, please e-mail me at juliec@imot.org.
