Executive Chef Rodrigo Bueno Teaches Guests Traditional Mexican Favorites In a Host of Settings at one of Mexico’s Most Beloved Seaside Resorts

(PESCADERO, BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR; August 2012)— Known for its relaxed atmosphere and its
ocean-and-farm-to-table approach to cooking, Rancho Pescadero offers a host of cooking classes for
students of all levels and groups of any size. Choose from lunch in the garden to a guacamole
lesson at the poolside bar.

WHAT:           

Guests at Rancho Pescadero can hone their Mexican cooking schools with a host of
class offerings from Chef Rodrigo Bueno. Some examples of classes include:

Mexican Garden Lunch
Guests walk the organic garden with the chef and harvest ingredients for lunch, a three-course
affair paired with Baja wines. A typical lunch might include a Garden Salad, Mexican rice,
Wood-oven Roasted Chicken and Freshly-caught Fish in Tomatillo Sauce.
$40 per person

Dinner for two
Couples, or friends take turns preparing the first and second courses for dinner for one another. A
Mexican feast might be Shrimp Agua Chile, fish a la Talla, Chicken Tinga and flan.
$45 per person

Town and Market Tour with Lunch or Dinner
Chef  Bueno  takes  students  for  a  traditional  breakfast  in  Pescadero followed by fish
shopping at Punta Lobos, a visit to La Semillera for dried peppers  and  other  essential  Mexican 
ingredients,  and  a  stop  at  his favorite taco stand for shrimp tacos. The group returns to
Rancho Pescadero to prep for a late lunch or dinner that evening.

Beach Feast
One of Chef Bueno’s favorite classes to teach is dinner on the beach. Tumbada Rice, similar to
paella, takes center stage at this meal, cooked over an open fire and served as the sun sets over
the Pacific.
$45 per person (minimum 6 students)

Complimentary Demos

Chef Bueno is happy to offer complimentary classes by the bar or in the
garden. Topics include guacamole and pico de gallo.

Rancho Pescadero’s Resident Bar Manager and Mixologist Extraordinaire Danny Sanchez also offers complimentary mixology classes, Baja wine tastings, and tequila tastings for interested guests.
