Michelle Winner V.P of IFWTWA. Our 2010 "Conference at Sea " docks at Grand Turk Island in the Caribbean January 11, 2010. at 8 AM. We are looking for a hote lor condo property to offer a day at the beach or an ecological tour with lunch. Our journalists would also like to offer their time to help the island by working physically to rebuild after the hurricane or help with one of the island projects ( Ironwood non-native species or museum assistance) we realize that the island needs a bit of help and we are willing to lend a hand. In addition, our day of discovery on Grand Turks from 8AM to 130 PM will generate articles around the globe. If interested in hosting 38 journalists for the day- please contact me ASAP. Hi Michelle - can you send me your direct email and Maralyn's too? I'll see what I can do with the folks on Grand Turk. It's a very small place but there are a few supportive hotels and tourism operators. Is there any chance any of your writers would want to visit Providenciales, which is really the tourism center of Turks and Caicos. It's a 25 minute flight.
Hi Mike that would be fantastic! We got in touch with the tourism office , a Kala Lightbourne said she''d present the idea and get back but after 3 e-mails to her over 3 weeks and no response . . I just think this is an incredible opportunity for some concern to seize. Think of it, no air to pay, no hotels for the journalists! Well I have a business background and I think of these things too! .I'll be leaving for Christmas today back 26th and then Hawaii 12/28 so if you want to send me e-nmail and also copy our president Maralyn Hill - that would work. We are even looking for a simple snorkle/beach day property tour perhaps if that is what works for you. I grew up on an island( Hawaii) and I know there is nothing more precious than the ocean, waves, and a day in the sun! Many thanks
