Please indicate your support below, and I'll forward this to the PA State Tourism Office.
We, the undersigned, protest the early appearance of fall colors in northeastern PA. Oaks and ashes in moderately -- not excessively -- high elevations are starting to turn yellow and even drop leaves. Maples are showing touches of red. Very pretty, but like a yellow or red cucumber, entirely inappropriate, if not downright alarming. Life is short, summer is even shorter. Couldn't this autumn leaves thing wait until (at the very least) after Labor Day?
We hereby petition the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, which oversees the tourism office, to put a stop to these signs of summer's end for the next couple of weeks. It's sunny and 78 degrees, a perfect summer day. Tell the damned trees to wait until October.
