The curator had been at it for a couple of days at that point, but then we went into a period of really deep freezes (down to near 0) and thigh-high snows. He survived, but jeez, it was an ordeal. Of course, you are right about the fact that three million men survived the Civil War. I'm not sure I would've been one of them.
