With some grade-A ecoutourism and archeological/historic sites, overall this is one of the Americas' more backward and least gay-friendly regions. Nonetheless, these seven countries (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama) all have something of a gay scene and even a handful of gay resorts. The most developed in this regard is Costa Rica, followed by Panama and El Salvador.
