  I hope this isn't too late, but you will find a lot of (not just wine) recommendations on the Champagne guides on my site.

  Start at www.winetravelguides.com/Guides/France/Champagne and then cruise the menus from there. The Attractions and the Events sections might be most useful for you. Here is a copy and paste of the Attractions in the southern-most guide for the Aube:

  Events

  Foire à la Choucroute

  Every year in September some 40,000 visitors descend on the village of Brienne-le-Château (where Napoléon attended military school) to consume 20 tonnes of choucroute.

   

  Randonnée des Cadoles

  There’s no such thing as a free lunch, they say. Sometimes you have to sing for your supper. Turn up at the centre of Les Riceys on the first day of May every year and join in the organised run, and you’ll get a free lunch afterwards. The run goes through the vineyards, from one cadole to another, taking in 12 cadoles altogether, ending back at the heart of Les Riceys, enjoying some fabulous views along the way. Cadoles are unique to the Aube (see Circuit des Cadoles).

   

  Route du Champagne en Fête

  Over the last weekend in July and featuring music, entertainment and Champagne tasting, Route du Champagne en Fête rotates between different villages.

   

  Splendeurs de Troyes

  Medieval pageant in the centre of Troyes during the third weekend June, with knights, troubadours, minstrels, jugglers, acrobats and fire-eaters. Also features a regional produce market and tastings.

  Bonjour! I need some help with information about Champagne-Ardennes. I will be writing a magazine article on the area next week and although I know it quite well, I would be interested in knowing about any new and recent things which tourists (especially from Australia and NZ) might be interested in - new restaurants, interesting walks or bicycle trails, events, exhibitions - that sort of thing.
