Hawaii makes chocolate - and it´s delicious!

Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory      When you come to the Aloha State, go beyond the mai tais and and enjoy some divine, locally grown chocolate! The Hawaiian islands are home a number of chocolate-making companies, and most are bean-to-bar businesses. Hawaii is the only U.S. state which grows cacao, then processes and makes it into bars and other cocoa products. I've done my share of eating chocolates on the different islands, and I find the chocolate confections not overly sweet and…

Its cuisine is cited as one of "5 Reasons Why Colombia Is Among the World´s most Appealing Destinations"

Pierrick Lemaret,Colombia's location and varied environments - from coastal to mountain to rainforest to rolling plains - as well as ethnic heritage including pre-columbian, Spanish, and African, give the country's cuisine a flavourful depth indeed. That includes ingredients that might be unfamiliar to visitors, such as the fruits arazá, dragon fruit, lulo (aka naranjilla), passionfruit, and soursop, as well as fish like the freshwater bocachico and gamitama (related to the piranha). Some of the…

  • Food in Asia-I've an assignment where I need to get information on different Asian celebrations for the Chinese New Year. I need regional recipes tied into the celebrations with credits for the chef/property and dish history, jpgs are desirable. The article will be on a site that gets 1.6 million visitors a month to food page and will be introduced in a mailing to 250,000 subscribers. If you represent any properties that can assist with this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  • In regard to a post on beer in this group and an advert concerning a book on whisk(e)y I saw, I came across today news of the first whisky to be produced in England for more than a century. It is a single malt, probably quite obviously, and is distilled in Norfolk. I'm a little confused, because the news report attached said that it had been in casks for three years, when whisky generally does not see the light of day before 10. Having once—and once!—had a seven-year-old, this confuses me.

  • I'm the kind of guy who likes to eat a lot. I think it's one of the most important dimensions of travel, and really helps you understand a culture and where it's coming from. Hey Nepaltrekkingguide, are there any videos on Youtube about the Sacrifice Festival? Not the bloody part where they kill the animals, I mean more generally where you see how it's celebrated? It sounds very interesting!
