There are lots of food and wine activities which would be of interest to visitors and newcomers to Melbourne, where you can mix with the locals and not be treated to some homogenized prepackaged fare.

- A new social group called Vintage Lounge has been formed. I will start meeting form August. See http://www.meetup.com/Vintage-Lounge-Travel-Food-Wine/ It will be holding regular meetings for Travel food and wine lovers.
- Each month In the city there are wine tastings in the evenings of the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month. regional Victorian wineries show off their wares on a rotational basis. see fedsquare.com/index.cfm?pageID=74
