Absolutely, but as with other Asian countries like Japan, Christmas has become a cultural phenomenon that transcends religions, and Indians love a good festival! So apart from places like Goa, Kerala, northeastern states like Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, and parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, which hold large church services, street decorations, processions, and family feasts, in large cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Chennai, and Kolkata you´ll see shopping malls and hotels pull out the stops with holiday lights, decor, and music, as well as holiday markets and concerts and other public events. Even non-Christians exchange gifts and throw holiday parties, and there are even Indian Christmas foods such as plum cake (see more below). Furthermore, December 25 is a national holiday, so those who don´t celebrate Christmas per se enjoy the festive atmosphere, outings, and travel.
