Montenegro's eco-wonderland Durmitor National Park

Located in the mountainous, densely forested northwest, including 23 peaks rising as high as 2522 meters, this majestic 39,000-acre, glacier-and-river carved spread includes the steep-sided Tara River Canyon (at 82km the longest in Europe and second longest and deepest in the world) and 17 glacial lakes. That, and its wealth of flora and fauna such as wolves, boars, brown bears, chamois, and eagles, is why it's also UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can drive a route through the park, and other popular activities include hiking on some 100km network of trails, as well as biking, dirt biking, climbing, fishing, canyoning, paragliding, ATV riding, swimming, kayaking/boating, river rafting, skiing/snowboarding, and visiting mountain villages. You can overnight here at campsites, cabins, a mountain lodge, and the Žabjak ski/summer resort
