Monte Cristi

I'm hoping to do a volunteer project for a couple of weeks in the Monte Cristi area next winter. Does anybody have any experience in that northwest coast of the Dominican Republic? Of course the sponsoring agency has given me some info already. Dorothy

Well, everyone, I'm back from DR--a beautiful country, lovely people. Monte Cristi, although historical, is rather seedy. I taught English for 2 weeks under the auspices of Orphanage Outreach, a very well-organized outfit. I recommend getting a different view of Dominican Republic this way. Then you can--as I did--travel around and see other parts of the country.
