Beyond the two main towns towns of Roseau and Portsmouth, several villages punch above their weight. Soufriere and Scotts Head (just under an hour south of Roseau) sit inside a partly submerged volcanic caldera and anchor a marine reserve that's among the best diving spots in the eastern Caribbean. Wotten Waven (about 20 minutes east) is the island's unofficial hot-springs village, with rustic, locally built sulphur baths (pictured here). Calibishie (an hour to 75 minutes north) is a laid-back former fishing village turned low-key creative hub, with guesthouses, restaurants, and easy access to the red cliffs of Pointe Baptiste. And Laudat (about 20 minutes east) is barely more than a cluster of houses, but it's the launch point for the Boiling Lake and Middleham Falls hikes.
