Two more sleeps from before I fly from Sydney to Broome (in Western Australia) and then hopping on the Orion ship for a ten day cruise around the Kimberleys - a most magnificent, ancient land - Can't wait. It's work of course.

A 'koala' hot air balloon? What's the koala connection. But that said, flying over Cairns seeing the sea on one side and the mountain range on the other is pretty spectacular. I've done the helicopter ride from out on the reef over the sea to the rainforest area - splendid!

Heard about the two couples, both lived in New York City, both lived on Third Avenue, actually they lived on the same block and both wives had office jobs working for NYC. They met for the first time, this week, floating in a koala hot air balloon over the outback, west of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. www.hotair.com.au/cairns - What a small world it is.

The Windsor Hotel for a traditional afternoon tea in style, the Press Club for dinner -and Cummulous in Flinders Lane is cool. But Melbourne has no hit and miss joints - coffee is good all over and the food too. Melbourne deserves a week's holiday for drinking and eating only. Don't forget the 'lanes' for little, cool bars and tapas on tap!

Jenolan Caves are about a three hour drive from Sydney and in spectacular country. Scrubby bush, wild escarpments and nearby Kanangra Walls, the most spectacular sandstone cliffs you can imagine. Also for bushwalkers (hikers) there's the 'six foot track' there where you can walk the rugged track for several days - if you're fit and brave enough. C'mon down, you're all welcome - if you are well behaved!
