  • Just heard that Mount Longonot, a volcano you see when you go from Nairobi toward the Great Rift Valley, may be getting ready to blow.
  • We have been inspired by West Africa's beauty to organise a photography competition so that you can send us your best snaps of one of the World's most beautiful geographical regions.

We will accept only one photo per person, so choose wisely. The winning photo will be chosen by a professional photographer specialised in Africa! The winner will receive a copy of Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars latest album, "Rise & Shine".

Please post all photos on the West Africa Discovery Facebook page to enter the competition.

  • Good question, Maureen. Post it on our Ask A Travel Expert widget. That way, not only is the question on Tripatini's home page (where everyone will see it), but just posting it increases your odds of winning our London prize.
  • I am spending a few days in Masai Mara region. Have a few more days I would like to fill. Should I stay in Kenya (Amboseli?) or go to Tanzania (Tarangire, Ngorongo)? Suggestions anyone?
  • Not your average East Africa Safari, but none the less very unique and interesting, take a look at our newly listed Cameroon Gorilla Safari - from Dzanga to Sangha holiday idea. We pick our listed tours because of their unique and exciting features and because they strive to provide benefits to the local communities in the destination as well as minimising the negative effects of tourism on local heritage.
  • I'm off to the Kalahari in 3 days...taking a group of tourists. Should be fun!
