Take a road trip to peaceful, picturesque, and welcoming Belgrade Lakes Region in Maine. It is Central Maine's premier lake area for recreation, relaxation, and wholesome family fun. Famous for its sparkling scenic streams and chain of seven lakes, its panoramic views of fields, hills and woodlands, its inviting towns and villages, and its activities for all ages. Whether a destination for activities and action or a retreat for peace and tranquility, the Belgrade Lakes Region is truly where memories last a lifetime.
Make the stay even more special with a stay at Wing Hill Inn, a charming, six room country inn set between Great Pond & Long Pond in the village of Belgrade Lakes. It is perfect for a romantic escape or a convenient stopover, and open year-round. Wings Hill is also an award-winning restaurant, the region’s only dining spot to be named to Yankee Magazine’s Editors Choice. Prepared by the Culinary Institute-trained chef/owners, dinner is open to the public by advance reservation.
There is plenty to do in the Belgrade Lakes area but do not miss the fun and informative mail boat trip on Great Pond with Captain Norm that leaves daily, except Sunday, at 9:30. Norm is one of only a few mailmen approved by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver the mail by boat. But he is more than a mailman, he is a storyteller who shares tales about the area’s famous residents including pointing out where Ernest Thompson, author of “On Golden Pond,” was inspired to write his play. Belgrade Lakes is about an eight hour drive from most places in New York State.
