My name is Carol Bryant and I am the Social Media/PR Director as well as a writer/blogger for FIDO Friendly magazine.
I am wondering how many of you travel with dogs and enjoy it. Would love to interview you for the blog and hear your stories, positive and negative experiences, things you do along the way to make life easier.
Now in our 10th year, each bimonthly issue of FIDO Friendly includes hotel and destination reviews along with health and wellness topics, dog training advice and the latest fashion trends.
Thanks!

Dogs in Yosemite
Pets are one of our most precious possessions and often, our closest friends. Well trained dogs make great hiking companions but dogs are not allowed on the wilderness trails of Yosemite National Park.
Although dogs are allowed in the park and can be in designated campgrounds the National Parks are not exactly dog friendly, there are so many restrictions that dogs can't really be dogs.
If you want to hike with your dog visit the National Forests just outside Yosemite National Park. There are miles of dirt Forest Service roads & trails available for you and your dog to hike. In most areas of the National Forest dogs can be off leash if the owner can control the animal with voice commands.

January, 2011 update:
Maggie is back in Venice after a quick, easy Delta-to-Air France connection at Paris CDG two weeks ago. "Maggie in Venice" dog blog posts about the trip (with pictures and a video) are at:

We've already had one "Maggie sighting" by a British couple who were visiting Venice and recognized her from the blog:

Oh and Lisa, tell Sadie she can come play dress up with us anytime ;hehe
Here are just a couple of stories I wrote about pet-friendly places:
This was published in Real Travel Adventures Magazine: Forgotten Florida
This is on the official Sarasota tourism website: Hot Dog Digs
and this one is not about traveling with dogs, but rather rescuing one, reprinted from Style Magazine in SW FL:
A Christmas Tail
The Christmas Tail story had a happy ending, but a sad (unpublished) postscript... Sara died a year later due to misdiagnosed heartworm disease. However, a week later, we found and rescued Sadie, another light of our lives! We consider Mimi a rescue as well, since her previous owners were feeding her McDonald's cheeseburgers at eight weeks old :0
My website lists pet-friendly hotels, and I just yesterday posted Pet Travel Tips from ASTA. Take a look if you get a moment: http://travelwithlisaonline.com
Thanks for the opportunity to share! Oh and re: fashion trends, little Mimi's got a cute wardrobe, but my husband refuses to allow me to dress Sadie in anything but bandanas. :)
Recently we moved from California to Tucson and made a nightmarish 2-day run down there with them. Nightmarish because we got a late start the first day when they were already freaked out by all the uproar. And the second was long -- 10 hours on the road.
But we stayed overnight at the Comfort Inn & Suites near Magic Mountain in LA and I highly, highly recommend it! They allow up to 3 dogs (no crate requirement) in the room, up to 50 pounds. We have one 50 pounds, one 40 pounds and one 20 pounds. They put us next to the exit to the pool, perfect for morning walks.
