Inaugrated in 1894, this neo-Renaissance palace was famously damaged by the suspicious Reichstag fire of 1933, and then understandably targeted during World War II, particularly by the Soviet Red Army. After the war it was restored and used for exhibitions and special events, and it wasn´t until its total redesign (and the addition of a modern annex) that it became once again the parliament of the recently reunified Germany, in 1999.
