The city of Antalya lies on the Mediterranean coast in the south of Turkey, a truly vast country. Sheltered on one side by the Taurus Mountains and bathed by the blue waters of the Mediterranean on the other, in just a few years the region of Antalya has become one of Turkey’s top destinations for spa tourism.
Antalya is a region that enjoys a particularly mild climate. Indeed, it’s safe to say that the sun shines 300 days a year – even in the middle of winter the temperature only rarely drops to below 15º C, making it the ideal destination when the rest of Europe is knee-deep in snow and battered by freezing winds.

Yet Antalya is also a great city simply for meandering around. There are large public parks dotted with palm trees and an attractive marina. When walking around the city, look out for the Clock Tower and Hadrian’s Gate, which form part of the ancient city walls. Also not to be missed is the ultra-modern Convention and Exhibition Centre with itsspectacular glass pyramid and a popular spot with tourists. When visiting the city, you should also take the time to admire the ancient mosques and the picturesque Kaleiçi district. The historic quarter is lined with magnificent wooden houses dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries and which today have been turned into guest houses or souvenir shops.
