Though lacking Thailand’s abundance of “Coffee-Mate” white sand, Phu Quoc’s golden beaches are deep, soft, and attracting more travelers.

If you ever wondered what Thailand was like in the late 1980s, check out Phu Quoc Island off the southwest coast of Vietnam, the new hop on the Gulf of Siam’s circuit that embraces Koh Samui, Koh Chang and Koh Kong.

Phu Quoc is fast becoming Vietnam’s hottest new island destination. But it also maintains -- at least for now -- a character unlike anything in Thai

Governor Diego Velázquez was so overawed by lush beauty of this fabulous part of Cuba that he decided to call it the Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens) in honour of the Spanish monarch Ferdinand the Catholic. And this Spanish explorer could not have thought of a more suitable name for the chain of islands containing Cayo Coco, as they truly do reign supreme amongst the many stunning paradisiacal spots to be found on the spectacular island of Cuba, the largest of the Antilles.

Five Reasons to Visit Vietnam

Written by Ellie

Having spent some time travelling in Thailand, I’m eager to visit more of south-east Asia, and visiting Vietnam is next on my list!

After researching the country and jealously listening to recommendations given by other travellers, I’ve come up with a list of my top reasons why I want to travel to Vietnam.

1. Delicious Food

Despite the huge focus on other Asian cuisines such as Thai, Chinese and Indian food, I’ve heard great things about Vietnamese food and some of the dishes sound

Morocco's Mediterranean Beaches

MED_playas_berkane.jpg?width=1000

The city of Berkane is located in the Moulouya valley, at the foot of the Beni Hassan Mountains. Far removed from mass tourism, it is the center of the agricultural region of Trifa and is a dynamic zone which focuses on greenhouse cultivation. Its beaches, the longest in the country, are tranquil stretches of sand on which to disconnect from the bustling rhythm of life in the cities and let yourself be rocked by the waters of the Mediterranean.

Among them, Saïdia beach, one of the longest in Moro

Atenas, Costa Rica
, is a small city (pop. 27,000) that's a 45-minute drive from capital San José and also convenient to many other attractions in the Central Valley. It also happens to be unusually popular with foreign expatriates – about 1,500 year-round and up to 3,000 in winter months (and because of this as well as being a San José bedroom community), it it boasts an unusual number of great restaurants for its size - a good several dozen.

Here is a sampling of some of the favorite restau

Top 5 Beaches of Mexico's Riviera Maya

There are no bad beaches in the Yucatan Peninsula's Riviera Maya, stretching south of Cancun. All of them are paradises of white sand and crystal waters, so any destination a visitor picks will be a good choice. Even so, it is more than evident that each piece of coast is different to the rest, with small nuances which make them special and tip the balance in favor of one over another in the eyes of tourists. If we had to make a list of the five best beaches, they could very well be these:

Exploring pristine beauty of Hoang Son Beach

I expected to end the journey of north-central provinces at Ngang Pass, the last place of Ha Tinh, adjacent Quang Binh. It used to be the boundary between the Dai Viet and Chiem Thanh in the history.

Ngang Pass is famous not only for historical features but also a famous scenic of the Central. There is Hoang Son Quan that was built in the reign of King Minh

If Costa Rica's professional surf scene had an A-team, it would look something like this: Carlos Muñoz, Jair Pérez, Noe Mar McGonagle, Gilbert Brown, Anthony Fillingim, Luis Vindas, Leilani McGonagle, Lisbeth Vindas, and Nataly Bernold. The nine top surfers seem to shuffle places between being national champions and taking the top five slots at any given competition, with the odd interloper upsetting the order.
