Perhaps the most exciting casino hotel in Vegas, the Stratosphere (soon to be rebranded as the STRAT) is on Las Vegas Boulevard, and considered to be the Strip's northernmost casino hotel. But what especially sets it apart are what's here besides its 2,424 rooms and huge (8,000-square-foot) gaming floor: the action-packed attractions contained in its Stratosphere Tower - the city's tallest, as well as the USA's tallest observation tower and fifth tallest in general. There are two observatory decks and a revolving restaurant called Top of the World, but people especially flock here for its thrill rides:

The Big Shot

The world's second highest thrill ride (921 feet), shooting up the tower at 45 miles per hour, generating a force of 4 g's (gravitational force).

Insanity

The third highest thrill ride of the world, whirling riders around in a circle over the edge of the tower.

Sky Jump

A controlled 855-foot descent in a bungee-type harness at 40 mph.

X-Scream

Nearly 870 feet up, the fourth highest thrill ride of the world is a herky-jerky kind of roller coaster along 68 feet of track off the side of the tower.
