At age 458 - founded during the Spanish empire by Admiral Pedro Menéndez de Avilés - St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the United States. There’s a lot to recommend a city that old, including charming colonial architecture and a lot of history - not just stretching back centuries but also including its beginnings as a tourism mecca during the Victorian era, the early 20th century, and even the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. And of course ghosts. A city that old has a lot of history to haunt -- a lot of death and despair to permeate the landscape -- and the spirits of St. Augustine are sufficient to keep a multitude of ghost tour operators very busy providing a frenzy of frightful fun. And one recent All Hallow´s Eve I tagged along on a couple of them.

It’s ironic that this trolley tour begins right next to a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum (just sayin’) First ghost hunting tip: go for the inclement weather, alleged by dedicated ghost hunters to provide more energy for the “manifestations” to draw on. It was misty that night: check. In the tour office hangs a Certificate of Haunting, issued by the Port Orange Paranormal Society, officially identifying the St. Augustine Old Jail, one of the tour stops, as “an authentically ‘haunted" location…based on audio, video and photographic evidence.” You can’t argue with that, I guess?

As we hopped on the "Trolley of the Doomed," all dressed up for Halloween, with about a dozen other eager seekers of the spooky, we were instructed on the basics of ghost sightings: look for little orbs with tails, a white light, a shadow, an apparition in white (seems to be the preferred attire of apparitions). At a cemetery fence, not surprisingly always a portal for the undead, cameras were flashing and phones lighting up, one after the other. “Why are they all taking pictures of the fence?” inquired my always-skeptical husband. “There’s nothing there.”

The 75-year old Potter’s Wax Museum building (which bills itself as the oldest in the USA) we were told was built over a cemetery, thereby explaining all the “energy.” I was beginning to pick up on the idea that energy was just a euphemism for ghosts. Our guide talked of strange happening which by the end of the night had become a mantra -- footsteps heard, bottles falling, objects flying. Combined with a lot of corny humor, it didn’t help convince me of the authenticity of the experience.

As we walked through the museum, I suddenly felt a vibration on my arm -- a very intense vibration -- and I quickly looked around to see who or what “energy” might be near me. How disappointed was I to discover it was only my Fitbit! Another 10,000 steps logged but no other-worldly workout buddy to share it with.

A re-enactment of an old pirate being felled by an executioner -- with one of my tour compatriots assuming the role of the condemned -- was great theater. But nothing compared to that of the Old Jail, known by the way as "the hanging jail" from 1871 to 1953, for the eight criminals who swung from the gallows there. A dramatic inmate told the stories of the sadly deceased with great gusto playing out all the gory details of the crimes. The impersonators were the best part of the tour - but for better or worse they were all very much alive!

Someone claimed to get a picture of an orb -- allegedly a filmy white light with or without a tail -- on her cellphone. I looked through the bars into the same very dark cell and all I saw was - well, a very dark cell. However, the marketing person employed by the tour company sent me this photo taken on a tour of a nearby castle in 2008: She claims, “NO ONE was standing there in period costume where the apparition appeared!”

How to account for some of these specter sightings? Shadows; specks of dust; reflections, overactive imaginations? But many claim they capture images on their cameras that are unexplainable -- ghosts trying to present themselves in recognizable spirit forms. Who am I to argue?

Given my own penchant for spirits of the drinking variety, it seemed a ghost-infused pub crawl a good way to combine my spirits with…well…theirs as part of my next phantom-filled adventure. And not often does my line of work require me to attend an extended happy hour, so when the opportunity to imbibe at four venues all in the name of research presented itself, well, I felt obligated. Ergo.. zombie martini, anyone?

At one of our stops, Meehan’s Irish Pub, the liquor is held in place by wires because they say the bottles have more than once inexplicably flown off the shelves. According to Kaiser, who has been tending bar here for five years, he´s heard voices, seen lights flicker, had the bathroom door stick for no apparent reason, and claimed sightings of a man in overalls. “If you don’t believe in ghosts, come work here,” he invites.

Similarly, Sara, a bartender at Scarlett O’Hara’s (which, by the way, has since closed), also renowned as haunted, enthusiastically proclaims, “Oh yeah, I’ve experienced everything.” Those experiences, not surprisingly, include erratic lights, moving dishes, unseen voices and apparitions of a woman in white (notice a pattern here?), and a man in a uniform. I ordered yet another drink

It’s hard not to be affected in some way by all these stories. As skeptical as I was when I began the trip, how do you dismiss the experiences -- often so similar -- of so many others? Or ignore some very real tangible evidence ostensibly captured on film? I was left just shaking my head a lot -- and feeling somewhat reassured that overall, ghosts seem to be a lot more playful than they are scary.

At the beginning of our tour, Brian, our guide and historic/haunted/site veteran, passed out electromagnetic field transmitters to aid in our search for otherwise unrecognizable companions; supposedly their energy is recorded on the readers, which tend to beep loudly in response. Or it could just mean that there’s a computer nearby. Hard to tell. As we walked the neighborhood, Brian advised us to ignore the more modern establishments and focus on the historic ones -- the better to haunt you with, my dear -- about which he regaled us with stories. Claiming that the theory of ghosts is as polarizing as politics (though probably not these days), he said the spectrum tilts 60-40 in favor of believers. “Ignore the skeptics,” he admonished. “That’s not why you’re here.”

As we walked over streets that were built over cemeteries and past ongoing archaeological digs, he assured us that residual energies remain. Never, though, is a ghost going to come up and say, “Hello, my name is Ralph and I’m going to haunt you tonight.” Instead, he said, you have to acquaint yourself with a place and know what to look for -- or more accurately, “share the presence of.”

My creepy-bar-crawly comrades kept checking their EMF transmitters to see if they’d connected with any external energies and then snapping their cameras in the hopes of randomly catching them on film. Until we got to the next bar, of course, and started imbibing again. For a while I thought the liquid spirits were overtaking the more ethereal ones. But then we moved on.

The rash of squeals emitted from several transmitters at the corner of Charlotte and Hypolito Streets caught everyone’s attention -- equaled only by the story Brian then told of the murder there on November 20, 1785 of one William Delaney by a jealous rival. Now, I didn’t see Delaney’s spirit anywhere but I also know this didn’t happen at any other intersection. Coincidence?

And Don´t Mess with Miss Lily

The next day, glad to be done with phantasms for awhile, I was doing more traditional sightseeing. When I mentioned to a curator at a small museum that we were staying at the St. Francis Inn, the oldest in St. Augustine (dating back to 1791), he asked in what room. I told him. “Ah then, you’re safe,” he said, “as long as you’re not in Lily’s Room.” Oh?

When I returned to the inn, I found that stories abound around Lily, a most mischievous spirit who wanders the third floor searching for her lost love, wreaking havoc among some guests. As I’ve learned is usual with ghosts, lights go on and off, bathroom locks get jammed, and objects fly across rooms. I was beginning to feel right at home. I nodded toward Lily, just in case SHE could see ME.

Everyone has to eat, and for many eating is a huge part of the travel experience - as well as a tasty way to gain a literally tasty insight to the destinations they visit. What´s more, most destinations have local tour operators which specialize in introducing visitors to the wonderful culinary experiences and heritage of their towns, cities, and regions: the essence of "slow food" and "slow travel." And here are five things that visitors can get out of them:

Enjoying Fresh, Seasonal, Locally Grown Foods

Each country has its own particular delicacies - some of which you may not find at home, or just pale imitations - and often available seasonably (for example, calçots, the charred green onions of Spain's Catalonia region, available only in winter and early spring). Food tours can introduce you to great seasonal foods that nurture your body and the environment. Additionally, these local foods can be even more delicious as they are picked at their peak ripeness and served to you filled with flavor. Plus, they are packed with nutrients because they don’t sit too long on the shelves.

Supporting Local Economies

Food tours on a local level are a great way to experience new foods. What’s more, they are an awesome way to support the local economy. As you explore veggies and fruits grown by farmers you are majorly supporting their hard work and the local economy. Some local food tours can aslo help support certain destination growth as they focus on a particular neighborhood or town. Local farmer’s markets are another great place to explore locally grown foods and support local growers, vendors, and artisans.

Spain´s artisinal jamón serrano cured ham; withlocals.com

Taking Advantage of Coveniently Planned Itineraries

Independent travel involves a lot of planning. If you love to stay organized and create itineraries for all of your trips, that’s great! You can do research and put together your own foodie itineraries. If on the other hand you don’t like planning your own tours, you’re in luck, because food tours already have planned itineraries. All the planning is done for you and someone else is in charge of getting you through the town and teaching you about the new foods and flavors. Plus, you can sift through various different itineraries and see which one suits your likes best, or even explore all of them.

Scoring Personalized Insider Tips

Another great benefit of discovering hidden gems is that you can learn so much about food and its preparations. Each culture has its own unique ways of cooking with the same ingredients, and this is a perfect opportunity to upgrade your skills. On food tours, your guide can make recommendations for restaurants and activities that you can additionally explore in the town. Since they are locals, they are filled with great ideas and knowledge on hidden gems, amazing places, and delicious foods to try. So, talk to the guide during the food tour and you will see how much you will learn.

Learning More about History and Culture

You could go on your own to museums and read online about a certain place, but local guides have much more valuable info. While on a food tour, your guide will show you amazing places on the way and share local anecdotes and historical facts including the background and cultural context of various dishes and ingredients. You may also meet some local chefs, restaurant owners, and food producers and vendors who can also provide fascinating insider knowledge.

When good friends asked my husband and me to join them to spend New Year’s Eve in Morocco’s Sahara Desert, it was hard to say no. We’d visited this country many years ago and had been utterly entranced by its culture, architecture, food, and people – yet we’d not yet gotten to the vast dunes of its northeast. And quite a trip it turned out to be..

Flying into Marrakesh, we spent a couple of days exploring its exotic, labyrinthine medina; its expansive Jamaa El-Fna square; and like iconic landmarks like Koutoubia Mosque and the Saadian Tombs. Then our party of six climbed into a van operated by a tour operator called Marrakech Citylife (highly recommended) and off we went, heading toward the town of Merzouga, 349 miles (562 kilometers) east.

Now, this is an exhausting drive of more than nine hours if you were to do it in one fell swoop, but we made several fascinating stops along the way. Our first, some five hours east, was the town of Aït Ben Haddou in the Ounila Valley, famed for its 11th-century ksar (fortified village), which centuries ago was a thriving stop on the caravan routes which crossed the Sahara. Constructed of rammed earth, adobe, clay bricks, and wood, its buildings cling to the side of a hill and offer. Just a small handful of families live there now (most instead inhabit a more modern village just across the dried up bed of the Ounila River), but it’s a favorite stop for tour groups and independent travelers alike, drawn by its evocative window back into the medieval past. An that vibe has also drawn the film and television industry, which has used it as a backdrop for some 18 productions over the past 60 years, from Sodom and Gemorrah to Game of Thrones. In fact, there’s a full-fledged movie studio in the pleasant nearby city of Ouarzazate (pop. 71,000) called Atlas Studios, founded in 1983 to service this industry, and we had a brief stop there to look at some of the sets (though we didn’t go into the movie museum or take the studio tour).

A couple of hours later we ascended into the Atlas Mountains, climbing a series of hairpin switchbacks in the dramatic Dadés Gorge - whose sheer rock walls soar 650 to 1600 feet high - and spent the night at the small, simple Hotel New Mars Dadés. We saw more – and walked along a stretch – of this spectacular gorge (above) as we headed out the next morning toward Merzouga. It was another long drive – some 8½ hours – but broken up by lunch; pit stops; a stop at a roadside shop where my husband and I bought heavy wool djellabahs (traditional, full-length Berber tunics) to wear in the Sahara; and most interestingly of all, the old khettara irrigation/well system near the town of Melaab. Marked by a field of mounds, these are underground channels tunneled out by the Berbers of centuries ago to tap the waters of the Atlas Mountains. Truly fascinating! We finally pulled into Merzouga at the end of the afternoon and overnighted at one of the town’s better hotels, the Ksar Bicha.

The next morning was the big day. After breakfast, we were taken on a just-over-three-hour 4x4 tour of some of the nearby desert flats, including a stop on a low ridge to hunt for fossils (the Sahara was under water millions of years ago) and a visit to a nomad camp where Hossein, his wife Mona, and adorable toddler son Omar greeted us with tea and a snack of flatbread stuffed with onions, carrots, and green peppers. Getting by traditionally by trading goats, sheep, chickens, and camels, today income from visiting tourists plays a large role in supplementing their income. This was followed by a performance by a local music/dance troupe of Gnawa, a black ethnic group originally brought to Morocco from a region called the Sahel as slaves by an early-18th-century sultan. It was a powerful performance of singing backed by drums, a three-stringed hajhuj lute, and most notably qraqab, metal hand cymbals.

Then after a fine lunch at Restaurant Chez Ibrahim, we spent an hour or so riding quads out into the dunes, where we also got to do a little sand boarding – on our butts atop a repurposed snowboard. Super fun!

After all that – ta-da! – it came time for the main event. We pulled up to a staging area where scores of hulking dromedaries (one hump, as opposed to camels, which have two) waiting to ferry tourists out to the desert camps. Our party climbed aboard (and yes, with José and I clad in our wool djeballahs), the droms rose ponderously to their feet and off we swayed for about an hour and twenty minutes, led by a pair of Berber lads. And yes, I admit at one point I played on my phone the famous main theme from Lawrence of Arabia – the area was close enough to town to yield a couple of bars of signal. Our Western sensitivities had us feeling a bit sorry for the dromedaries – especially seeing them afterward with one foot hobbled to keep them from wandering off – but these sturdy creatures were designed for this climate, and seemed well cared for (in fact, it’s totally in the locals’ interest to do so, being so critical to their livelihoods).

Finally the Merzouga Luxury Desert Camps came into view in a hollow beneath us – some 35 or so cream-colored canvas tents flanking a dining hall seating 75 to 80 visitors. The tents themselves are hardly “luxury,” despite the name – they have electricity (even bedside USB ports!), and you can upgrade to one with a private toilet and shower – but with no furniture except a decently comfortable bed dressed with a pair of heavy camelhair blankets – because that night the temperature got down to a frosty 38⁰ Fahrenheit (just over 3⁰ Centigrade).

A hearty dinner – with wine and beer, even – was followed by an evening of entertainment on the rise above the camp, where a large steel tent frame sans canvas was set up to showcase Gnawa and other traditional music. In this particular case, as it was New Year’s Eve, this was combined with a Berber-Arab-Euro-Latino dance party that had everybody up and moving – and believe me, watching turban-clad Berber guys getting jiggy to “Despacito” and Bad Bunny was something to behold. After the stroke of midnight and fireworks, we skipped the cake to fall unconscious in our tents.

The next morning, we passed on a return camel ride to head back to town in a 4x4 – a trip of just 15 minutes – and reboarded our van for the 211-mi. (339km) drive to Fez. Without stopping it takes around seven hours, but with lunch plus a couple of interesting stops (feeding peanuts to Barbary macaques in a national park and a spin around Ifan, a “hill station” and ski resort built by the French in the 1920s with some resemblance to a Swiss mountain town), it took closer to ten.

All in all, exhausting in some ways, but also totally exhilarating – truly a desert sojourn to remember forever!

With Marrakech Citylife tours, the base cost for this three-day trip was 190USD per person, including lodging and most meals.

In most cases groups fight over who should drive the vehicle. Furthermore, self-drive journeys come with the responsibility of their own and who would like to be burdened when travelling? Thus, it's better to take Taxi Service In Jodhpur, Car Hire In Jaipur.

In the case of weekends away or trips that last 3-4 days, hiring a taxi service for an outstation trip is extremely beneficial particularly if you are planning on moving frequently or exploring more locations and when public transportation isn't readily accessible. If you decide to take a taxi on an outstation journey there are a few aspects to keep in your mind.

Here are 12 important things to keep in mind when booking for an excursion out of town:

When travelling with friends or family, it is always a smart idea to hire a taxi. Everyone can relate to the endless fights while driving. There is always one who will never drive. It can get quite annoying. Why go through all that hassle when you can just hire a taxi? An outstation taxi rental is a great way to travel long distances, move from one place or another, and even drive from the airport. When renting a taxi to go outstation, there are some things you should remember.

Type Of Car

Comfortability is a key consideration when hiring a car to take you on a road trip. If your car isn't comfortable enough, it can make road trips very uncomfortable. You can choose the car that suits your needs. You will pay more if you have less people or hire a larger car than you need. If you have more people, ensure that your car is spacious and comfortable enough to fit everyone. Congested cars are not something anyone would like. When choosing a car, you should also consider how much luggage you have.

Budget-Friendly

It is important to keep everything within your budget. A trip that doesn't cost you an eye is what makes us happy. It can be depressing to pay a little more than the initial budget. It is important to understand the pricing policy for your taxi service while you are determining your budget. It is important to understand what each package includes. To avoid any last-minute problems, make sure you have all details in writing. While most companies include driver's allowance as part of the package, some companies charge extra. To help you budget for your travel, make sure to estimate the amount.

Round Trips

Round trips are a common option for car companies. If you only need to be dropped off at one location and intend to return by another means, it is a common practice for car companies to offer round trips. It is possible to choose a car service that offers one-way trips, so that you don't pay twice the amount of services you used. You shouldn't pay for a round trip if you only took the one-way trip. It is not a good idea to pay for something you didn't use. It is best to clarify these details before you hire a taxi Car Hire In Jodhpur, Car Rental In Jodhpur, Taxi Service In Udaipur , Car Hire In Udaipur , Taxi Service In Jaisalmer, Car Hire In Jaisalmer, Tempo Traveller Hire In Jaipur, Taxi Service In Udaipur, Tent Camp In Jaisalmer.

Airport Rides

It can be difficult to find another taxi after you have gotten off the plane. Two reasons people are reluctant to drive directly from the airport are that they cannot get a taxi for long distances, or the prices can be very high. They prefer to stop and take another taxi. It is much more convenient to have a taxi pick you up at the airport and drop you off at your destination. You don't have to change cabs or worry about the fare.

It can be difficult to find information about your destination when you travel alone, with family members, or friends. Airport taxi services can be extremely useful in this situation. You can call the number provided in the airport information brochure to make reservations.

It is easy to rent a taxi from Coimbatore, whether you are traveling for pleasure or business. This allows you to save money on taxi rides, and it keeps you from becoming dependent upon the public transport schedule which can sometimes be unpredictable. The entire process of leasing a vehicle can be overwhelming for both novice and experienced travelers.

Taxi administration for outstation is a great option for short trips, especially if you are planning to move a lot or if a public vehicle isn’t available for your destination.

Trip budget:

It's a joy for all of us to be able to take part in an important, decent journey. However, paying more is a constant temperament-saver. Before you think about outstation taxi administrations benefitting, it is important that you go through the entire valuing strategy and make sure you remember everything. While some organizations include the driver's stipend in the cost, others consider it an extra expense apart from the regular expense. It is important to know how much cash you will need for your taxi booking.

Security and Safety:

You should always test the taxi company that you choose to use for cab service. Sometimes even large air terminal vehicle specialist companies treat the security of the traveler as an additional concern. Remember that your life is precious and your movement is directly related to it. As such, ensure your wellbeing and security factors are always in mind.

Experienced Driver:

Your cab driver must be well-versed in street planning and should have a good knowledge of your objectives courses. Even if it is not possible, you should ensure that your vehicle is equipped with a GPS and route framework. If you plan to arrange a week-end escape to Udaipur for your guests, make sure the driver is familiar with the routes to the best-known Udaipur attractions. It is important to assess whether or not the driver has excellent driving skills.

The Andaman group of islands is situated about 1500 km from mainland India. This beautiful escape is popular among all types of travelers, groups, honeymoon couples, and families.

The island Islands is blessed with white sandy beaches, rich history, and lush rainforest. However, the remote location of the Andaman islands and the topography makes it very complicated for travelers to plan their trip to Andaman.

Most of the islands popular among tourists are located far from Port Blair (the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands), and there is minimal internet and mobile network connectivity.

You will need to manage a lot of things while you are planning your Andaman trip, like choosing the right hotel, arranging transport in different islands, and booking local ferry and sightseeing tickets.

It will be challenging to plan your Andaman trip without proper knowledge of the islands and understanding the minute details like timings of boats and ferries etc.

Most people choose to avoid this cumbersome task of planning and arranging everything for their Andaman trip and select a tour operator based in the Andaman Islands.

Tour operators in Andaman offer different types of tour packages, and they vary a great deal in price. Everyone is looking for something different and has different ideas about how they want to spend their Andaman trip.

In this article, we will talk in detail about what to expect on your Andaman trip.

What are the factors that will affect your Andaman Tour package cost and how to plan your trip in such a way that you enjoy the beauty of Andaman, while not spending on things which you might not enjoy.

So let's get started!

Here is a list of a few of our packages so that you get the basic idea about the approximate cost of an Andaman tour package.

Popular Andaman tour Packages Cost:

Andaman tour Packages

No. of Days

Price (per Person)

Details

3 Nights 4 Days Andaman Tour Packages

3 Nights 4 Days

INR 12,916/-

VIEW

Andaman Honeymoon Tour Packages

4 Nights 5 Days

INR 16,145/-

VIEW

Andaman Nicobar Package For Couple

4 Nights 5 Days

INR 18,802/-

VIEW

Andaman Holiday Packages

3 Nights 4 Days

INR 18,926/-

VIEW

Andaman Tour package cost what to expect?

The cost of your Andaman tour package for two people could range from anywhere between Rs 10000 per person to Rs 50000 per person. You might be wondering why this huge variation in cost!

The cost of your Andaman package is calculated based on the place you visit, the hotel you choose, and the number of persons traveling. We would discuss this in-depth in the next section, but here I would like to give you an example:

If you are a family of 5 people visiting for a 5-day trip, your per-person cost would be less than a couple on the same tour package. This is because the family will be sharing a vehicle where the cost is split between 5 people.

This was one of the many reasons which could affect your Andaman tour package cost.

We at Asap Holidays have served thousands of customers over that last Ten years and understand what each type of traveler could be interested in. We will help you customize your trip in such a way that you don't waste your money and get the best value.

Why our tour packages cost is less than competitors?

We guarantee that our tour package cost is much lower than our competitor's. Now, you could ask how we manage such low cost on our tour packages? Well, I would like to list out a few points which make booking your Andaman tour package with us the cheapest -

We are a 10-year-old company based out of New Delhi, which is the capital of the India. This means we understand the islands very well and have a good team on the ground, unlike many tour package providers who are based in mainland India and depend on local vendors to take care of their guests. Our strong local presence helps us to provide your Andaman tour package at minimum cost.

We being a local company, have prebooked inventory at many of the top hotels in Andamans. This helps us to get rooms at rates that are much lower than what you would get directly or through online booking sites. Our ability to procure hotel rooms at much lower prices plays a significant role in keeping our tour package price low.

We have a fleet of 20 brand new vehicles that are managed very efficiently by our operations team and able drivers. Owning our vehicle fleet gives us the flexibility to keep the package cost low while not compromising on the quality of our service

Choose from our range on Andaman Tour package options We provide a wide range of Andaman tour packages categorized into various sections based on your budget.

Browse through the different budget packages below

As we have mentioned earlier, the Andaman tour packages cost is dependent on a variety of factors, and you will need to understand them to choose the Andaman tour package that is best suited for your needs.

Let us discuss how to calculate your Andaman trip cost in detail:

Airfares

Airfares make a significant portion of your Andaman trip cost. Most of the travel agents offer only land packages and do not provide air ticketing services.

We at Asap Holidays have an air ticketing desk only for customers who book group packages. Though we provide flight ticketing services at request but encourage our customers to book online by themselves.

If you are planning to visit Andaman during Peak season the fares from major cities in India could range from Rs 7000 to Rs 15000 per person. We suggest you book your air tickets early to get reasonable rates.

If you plan to travel during the off-peak season, the flight rates are constant at about Rs 5000 per person.

So Book you air tickets at least two months in advance if traveling in peak season.

Hotel selection for your Andaman trip

Hotels and resort stay costs make up about 30-50% of your total package cost. If you plan your hotel choices at port Blair, havelock, and Niel island wisely, you will end up saving a lot on your package cost.

You should decide your hotel depending on what type of traveler you are

For couples, we always suggest booking a premium beach resort in havelock, and you can go with a standard 3-star hotel in port Blair as port Blair has more sightseeing places, and you will hardly be in your hotel room.

For families and groups, we suggest hotels which allow extra beds or have family rooms .this will help you reduce the price of your package a lot.

For solo travelers or bachelors in a group, we suggest to take standard clean hotels in both port Blair and havelock and spend more time and money exploring stuff and on adventure activities.

How many days you are spending in Andaman

The number of days you decide to spend in Andaman is the most significant factor in determining your trip cost. A quick three-day trip would cost much less than a six-day trip covering all attractions.

For people on a budget, we suggest taking a 4-day tour plan with two days in port Blair 1 day at havelock and same-day return from Niel. We can make the itinerary a bit more hectic, and you can quickly visit most of the famous attractions while keeping your entire night stays to a minimum.

This approach of a packed itinerary is only for those who are on a budget but still want to visit all the places in Andaman.

We have seen from experience that most people enjoy an Andaman tour package, which has a relaxed itinerary, and they get enough time to enjoy each location thoroughly.

What activities you plan

There are a lot of activities that are available in the Andaman Islands for visiting tourists. And generally, tour operators try to include them all in your Andaman tour package because they get good commissions from the activity providers.

While most of the activities are fun and adventurous, they are not for everyone

In our experience, we have seen that people book many activities and don't end up doing all of them and waste a lot of money. Money which could have been used to do stuff they would enjoy. For example, Many people book scuba diving for the whole group beforehand, but only a few members finally end up doing it.

We suggest that you do not include any watersport activity in your Andaman tour package and book it through your travel agent once you are at the locations. The exception is people who are sure about the activity they want to do and can book in advance.

Which of the locations you prefer

Andaman has about 20 attractions which are popular among tourists and many more remote beaches and spots where locals visit frequently.

You cannot cover them all, no matter which Andaman tour package you choose. So we have made a list of the popular destination and tips on how to choose the attraction you want to visit while keeping your Andaman tour package cost within your budget:

Andaman tour attractions and cost details

City tour of Port Blair:

Most tour operators include a city tour on the first day the guests arrive. You typically visit the small parks, zoos, and museums in port Blair city. On average, you get charged Rs 1500 for one five-seater vehicle.

While the city tour is recommended for families with children, couples and bachelors usually don't enjoy it very much. We can suggest that if you are a couple or a group of bachelors, you can skip the city tour and spend more time at Corbyn's cove beach near port Blair or visit marina park for some watersport activities like jet ski.

Cellular jail

Cellular jail is a national monument and gives you a glimpse into the Andaman's history and significance in the Indian independence struggle.

The cellular jail is a gigantic structure with a museum attached. "light and sound show " at cellular jail showcases the history of the prison and the Andaman islands in a theatrical way.

Most of our guests have given us positive reviews after visiting cellular jail. We suggest you add cellular jail to your itinerary as the entry ticket is only Rs 200, and the jail is located within the city.

Ross island

Ross Island is a tiny uninhabited island just off the coast of Port Blair city. The ross island was the old administrative capital of the British in their early days in the Andaman Islands during the 18th century.

Now the island is controlled by the Indian navy and is open for tourist. The island is famous for its old British ruins from the 18th century, which are mostly intact. The people visiting there feel like they have traveled back in time to a ghost town.

The cost of a ticket to ross island is about Rs 500, depending on the season. The last boat from ross island to Port Blair leaves at 5 pm.

Ross Island can be a fun trip for all kind of travelers, and for couples and groups who are not into archeology and history, there is a lovely beach at the rear side of ross island where you can spend quality time.

Havelock Island

Havelock island is the most popular destination for tourists travelling to the Andaman islands and for a good reason.

Havelock Island has many attractions like the famous Radha Nagar beach, Kala Patthar beach, and elephant beach. We recommend you visit Radha Nagar beach and Kala Patthar beach it will cost you about Rs 1500 for a four-wheeler.

Elephant beach requires traveling on a small boat and will cost you about Rs 1000 per person. Visit elephant beach if you have time as it is famous for its crystal clear water and snorkeling activities.

Scuba diving

Andaman is divers heaven. There are many dive schools in havelock, which conduct recreational diving for tourists. You dive up to 5mts along with a certified diver.

Diving in Andamans is safe, and it is a beautiful experience thanks to the clear waters at havelock. Though it is not for everyone and some people find it too intimidating. The cost of a 15min dive is about Rs 3000.

Andaman tour package cost reduction tips:

Try to book an Andaman tour package which includes all meals

Do not prebook the water sport activities in advance. Reach the location and then book based on weather, time available, etc

If traveling in a big group, ask your travel agent to negotiate with hotels and ferries, and provide you with a discount.

Carry all essentials for a beach destination and avoid buying stuff after you start the trip(carry sunglasses, sunscreen, towels, swimming costumes, etc.)It will be challenging to get in Andaman and also will waste your time between your tour.

The altitude sickness, also known as soroche, is a problem that afflicts different people who wish to visit destinations with higher elevation above sea level, being the case of the Peruvian highlands one of them. Different sites report on this ailment and it is not surprising that tourists inquire a little about it in order to get information and know how to prevent this discomfort; however, there is nothing to worry about.

Do you want to know more and avoid your plans to be frustrated? Don't worry, here we tell you all about it.

What is the altitude of Cusco and Machu Picchu?

Cusco is a city located in the Peruvian Andes at 3,399 meters/11,152 feet above sea level. Now, what about Machu Picchu? One might think, at least from the photos, that we must climb even higher to reach the Inca citadel as it is located in the middle of the jungle. However, this archaeological complex has an elevation of 2,430 meters/7,972 feet above sea level. More than 950 meters difference!

What is the altitude of the Sacred Valley?

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located 35 km from Cusco and about 600 meters below the level of the Imperial City. These are the exact altitudes of the towns that make up the valley:

Pisac: 2,980 meters/9776 feet above sea level.
Calca: 2,929 meters/9609 feet above sea level.
Urubamba: 2,870 meters/9416 feet above sea level.
Ollantaytambo: 2,850 meters/9350 feet above sea level.
Note that not all places in the same province will have the same elevation. For example: the district of Chinchero, located in the province of Urubamba, has an average altitude of 3,754 meters/12,316 feet above sea level.

What is altitude sickness and what causes it?

We understand as altitude sickness, soroche or mountain sickness, the little adaptation or habit that our organism has to the decrease of oxygen; being totally normal in places with high altitude. It is said that the symptoms begin to appear once we reach 2,400 meters/7,874 feet above sea level.

What are the symptoms of altitude sickness?

Symptoms vary from person to person, and usually include: tiredness, fatigue, nausea, insomnia, headache, elevated heart rate and lack of appetite. They usually disappear after two or three days.

Of course, more serious symptoms of altitude sickness such as altitude cerebral edema or altitude pulmonary edema are very rare. For these cases, the most sensible thing to do is to return to places with a lower altitude as quickly as possible.

How to prevent altitude sickness in Cusco?

There are natural remedies that can mitigate the symptoms of altitude sickness, but, to avoid bad times, the best way to prevent altitude sickness is to acclimatize. There are also a series of healthy habits to take into account before venturing to higher altitudes:

Be patient. The International Union of Mountaineering Associations (UIAA) recommends a maximum gain of 500 meters/1,640 feet of altitude per day after reaching 3,000 meters/9,842 feet above sea level.

Practice breathing. Specialists recommend taking it easy and breathing deeply to get the oxygen you need.

Stay well hydrated. Altitude sickness leaves us with a parched throat and a great feeling of thirst, so it is advisable to drink plenty of water. Fortunately, drinking water also helps us to calm our breathing and relieves the sensation of lack of oxygen.

Eat without excess. Dishes rich in carbohydrates and natural sugars are recommended before starting the trip.

Sorojchi Pills. Sorojchi Pills, also known simply as soroche pills or altitude pills, are medicine that prevents and relieves the symptoms of altitude sickness. Its use is recommended and can be found in any pharmacy in Cusco without a prescription.

Coca tea. The millenary and sacred coca leaf was used in Inca times as a home remedy for different ailments. Nowadays, it is recommended to drink an infusion of coca leaf to combat the symptoms of altitude sickness.

Chlorophyll drops. Taking chlorophyll drops increases the amount of red blood cells in the blood, giving us more chance for oxygen to be absorbed by it. Don't worry if you forget to take them, they are also sold in health food stores in Cusco.

As we have always mentioned in past notes, the great city of Cusco was once the capital of the majestic empire of Tahuantinsuyo. Today, we are the heirs of a millenary culture. This is reflected not only in the archaeological complexes that have survived throughout the city and the Sacred Valley, but also by the architecture of many of its buildings that have survived and by the oral tradition that is kept alive to this day.

The Legend of the Ayar Brothers

In the past we have already told you about the legend of the Ayar Brothers as a story full of magic and mysticism. Mount Tampu Tocco was affected by a heavy flood. It is said that from the top of this place appeared four young brothers, each with his respective wife. They were: Ayar Manco and Mama Ocllo, Ayar Cachi and Mama Cora, Ayar Uchu and Mama Rahua and Ayar Auca and Mama Huaco; who together with ten "ayllus" ( Inca organization grouping 10 families) undertook a long journey in search of fertile lands where they could settle.

On the way, each brother fell until only Ayar Manco and his wife Mama Ocllo were left standing. With the passing of the years of long walks, the golden staff that the god Inti gave him managed to sink in fertile lands, place that today we know as the city of Cusco and that was how the Tahuantinsuyo was founded, which later would become the Empire of the Incas.

The Legend of Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo

Although there are different stories about the origins of the Tahuantinsuyo empire, the legend of Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo is the best known of them. In ancient times, the god Inti sent his two sons, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, to bring order to the anarchism that existed among the people of Cusco. The purpose of sending his sons was to undertake a campaign of teaching and learning to civilize the people.

Thus, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo emerged from Lake Titicaca, in Puno, and began the journey through the Andean lands. The god gave them each a gold bar to bury in the places they reached and they settled in the place where it sank.

These bars ended up sinking in the Valley of Cusco, where they stayed to grow a small manor. Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo then, dedicated themselves here to teach all the crafts, techniques and other works necessary to bring the Andean people out of their primitivism.

This legend explains how we Peruvians have learned the techniques of agriculture, livestock, ceramics, textiles, culinary arts, etc.

The Legend of the Condor

Legend has it that in a village in Cusco lived a man with his young daughter. Every day, an elegant young man dressed in black with a white scarf and hat went to visit his daughter to go out and play. Over time, they became very good friends as they played all kinds of games. One day, this young man decided to play at carrying her and the little girl realized that they were flying through the skies.

The young man left the girl in a niche at the edge of a ravine and transformed into a beautiful condor. During the following months, this bird took charge of caring for and raising the girl and, after a few years, she became a woman and gave birth to a beautiful boy, son of the condor. Unfortunately, the girl, now a woman, cried day and night saying that she missed her father, whom she had left behind in the village, but the condor turned a deaf ear and kept the poor woman captive.

One day, a hummingbird appeared by the niche in the ravine. When she saw it, the young woman said in tears, "Oh, my little hummingbird, my little hummingbird! Who like you? You have wings! I have no way to get down from here. A few years ago, a condor turned young man brought me here. Now I am a woman and I have given birth to his little boy". The hummingbird, moved by her crying, promised to look for her father and tell him everything that had happened so that he could go to her rescue. In response, the young girl said, "Listen to me, little hummingbird. You know my house, don't you? In my house there are hundreds of beautiful flowers, and I assure you that if you help me, all the flowers in my house will be for you!

At such a statement, the hummingbird flew to the village. He easily located his father and told him what had happened. But in order to be able to leave for the rescue, the little bird told the man that they had to take an old donkey and two toads on the rescue trip. When they reached the bottom of the ravine, they left the old donkey already dead so that the condor would be distracted by eating it. They climbed the ravine, rescued the young girl from the niche and left the two toads in place. One was larger than the other.

Once the rescue was accomplished, the young girl returned to live happily with her father in the village. As a last detail of this meticulous plan, the hummingbird went to the condor and said: "Hey, condor, you don't know the misfortune that has befallen your house! Your wife and son have turned into toads". The condor, very worried, flew away to see what had happened, but neither the young woman nor her son were inside the niche. Only two toads now inhabited their home. The bird of prey was frightened, but could do nothing.

From that moment on, the toadpecker is every day among the flowers in the young girl's house. Meanwhile, she, her son and her father live happily in the community.

The Legend of the Treasure of Llanganates

As history tells us, in 1532, when Francisco Pizarro founded the city of San Miguel de Piura as the beginning of the conquest of the Inca empire, some time before the capture of Atahualpa in Cajamarca, the powerful emperor did not take long to notice that the Spaniards had a great appreciation for gold.

This is why the governor promised to fill a room with gold, known as the Ransom Room, in exchange for his freedom. Although Pizarro agreed to the deal, he chose not to trust the Inca emperor because of the great power of influence he had over the rest of his followers. Therefore, he did not comply with the agreement and Atahualpa's fate was death by garrote at the hands of the Spaniards in 1533. The death penalty was executed before the Cuarto del Rescate reached their hands.

Legend has it that the Inca general Rumiñahui was on his way to Cajamarca with an estimated 750 tons of gold worked for ransom, but when he learned that Atahualpa had been killed, he returned to Quito (Ecuador) and moved the treasure to the Llagantis mountain range. Once there, he found a lake and threw all the treasure away. Although he was captured, imprisoned and tortured by the Spaniards, he remained loyal to his late emperor and never revealed the location of the treasure.

The Legend of the Vision of Yupanqui

This story tells us that Tupac Yupanqui, son of the Inca Pachacutec, went to visit him in the time prior to his ascension to the throne. After some time of travel, he arrived at a fountain where he saw how a piece of glass fell into it. In this glass he saw the reflection of a man dressed as the leader of the Incas and from his head three rays of the sun were coming out.

Tupac Yupanqui, frightened, tried to run away from the place, but a voice told him not to be afraid because the vision that had been presented to him was of the god Inti. This voice also told him that he would conquer many territories and that he should always remember and make sacrifices in honor of his father, the Sun.

Some time later, Tupac Yupanqui succeeded his father as the new emperor of Tahuantinsuyo, and among the buildings he ordered to be erected, he had a statue of the Sun built just as he had been presented in that water fountain, as well as numerous temples to worship him.

If you like to learn more about the Inca culture and the millenary legacy of the Incas, we invite you to use our PeruRail Vistadome panoramic trains, buy your tickets here!

Depending on the season, some sections of the trail are filled with snow, green meadows, rain-soaked earth, or radiant mornings illuminated by sunlight. What is the best time of year to hike the Salkantay?

Weather on the Salkantay trek

During the five days of the Salkantay trek your steps will take you through different places with different climates depending on the season. During the first two days, the temperature will descend little by little as we approach the Salkantay pass, at 4600 meters above sea level.

After the pass, we will descend gradually to the region of the eyebrow jungle, where humidity and heat are the protagonists.

Located in the Cordillera de Vilcabamba, among the Cusco Andes, the Salkantay rises over 6271 meters high, so conquering its summit is a huge challenge even for the most experienced trekking and climbing enthusiasts. Ascending its steep slopes, surrounded by impressive landscapes, dreamlike lagoons and a great diversity of flora and fauna, make this adventure a unique and incomparable experience.

Although the journey to the summit offers a wonderful spectacle, reaching the final objective implies taking into account a series of important recommendations in order to avoid any type of risk, which we share with you below.

Prepare yourself physically and mentally

It is important that, in the first place, you take into account that the Salkantay snow-capped mountain is located in a zone of maximum altitude, so climbing it demands an overexertion that you should not overlook. In order not to suffer setbacks, apart from a good physical condition, you must learn to adapt to the sudden changes in temperature and the lack of oxygen typical of the area. To do this, it is vital to go through a conditioning stage several months in advance, with cardiovascular endurance exercises.

During this training, the climber should acclimatize his body to the altitude of Cusco and observe how his body reacts to the change in pressure. Running around the mountain will also help to adapt to the new weather conditions.

Breathing exercises along the stretches will help you tire less and better coordinate your movements. It is also important to walk slowly without speeding up your pace, in order to keep your body calm and enjoy the scenery and nature. Finally, listen to your body: if you feel the need to take a break, don't hesitate and do it. Once you feel more lucid and in better condition, continue with the tour.

When to go?

The best time to experience this adventure is during the dry season, that is, between May and October. During these months, the weather is sunny and rain-free. Temperatures range from 25°C during the day and drop to 5°C at night. Although there are travelers who undertake the route to Salkantay during the rainy season, between November and April, it is much more pleasant and less dangerous to do it in the dry season.

What should you bring?

One of the greatest difficulties of this experience is the significant temperature drops. For this reason, it is necessary to take adequate clothing to withstand the cold and also include a raincoat in case of rain.

Other items you should include in your backpack is a fair amount of clothes; personal hygiene items such as towel, soap, toilet paper, toothbrush and toothpaste. On the other hand, do not forget to bring a flashlight, a camera, a battery charger, sunscreen, repellent and your passport or identity card.

Also take with you a first aid kit with everything you need for any emergency, such as medicines, pills, coca leaves, band-aids, among others. It is always a good idea to bring some basic necessities or stationery to donate to the communities as you pass through the villages.

How to get there?

To start the route to the Salkantay, you must travel to the town of Mollepata, located 2 hours by car west of Cusco. Buses leave every day from Arcopata Street, very close to the Plaza de Armas. Mollepata offers good quality and cozy accommodations, so we recommend you to stay a few days in one of them. Do not hesitate to talk about the route with the muleteers of this place, they are experts in the area and will gladly answer all your questions.

Be a responsible traveler

During your visit, both to the different localities of the area and on the way to the summit of the snow-capped mountain, try to preserve and take care of the goodness that nature offers you. Save all your waste and do not pollute the environment. Be aware and protect the environment so that other people can also enjoy this natural wonder of Peru.

Choosing a good guide when it comes to your trips is definitely something that is very essential when it comes down to it because it is something that you must definitely be able to properly enjoy at the same time. Do not worry because it is surely going to be able to let you have all the fun that you can possibly get when it comes down to it as well. You just need to make sure that you are going to be able to choose the right Cebu tour guide in the meantime. To help you out in choosing one, here are some of the things you need to look for in choosing the perfect guide.

Passionate

One of the things that you should look for in a tour guide would be passion. This basically means that it would be good if you can make sure that he is someone who does his work because he loves it and not just for the salary that comes along with it. You want to see someone who really is very much enthusiastic about what he does so that you would not have any problems when it comes down to it as well. You should be able to easily see this in the way they talk and their mannerisms as well.

Experienced

Another thing that you should get is experience. You want to make sure that you are going to be able to get someone who is already well-experienced in what he does so that you would not be having any trouble at all in terms of figuring things out and making sure that he knows what he is doing. A good tour guide would know all the best ways and all the things that would help to make the tour a whole lot more enjoyable for you at the same time.

Knowledgeable

Being knowledgeable is also something that you should require from a tour guide so that he would be able to answer all the possible questions you are going to ask about the place that you are in and that you would not be having any problems in particular when it comes down to it as well. Take this as a good chance to be able to make sure that things are going to be as good as they come as well.

Listens

Also, get someone who knows how to listen even though they tend to speak a lot. Find someone who will be able to make sure that you are well informed and will listen to what you are trying to say because the best way for communication to happen is always to meet things halfway and so you might as well make sure to do this at the same time so there would be no possible problems in the end of the day.

Personal skills

Lastly, having good personal skills is definitely a plus point and a must when it comes down to it. If you can, try to look for this in your guide as well so that you would not have any problem when it comes down to it too. Islandtrektours.com is your go-to website to get the best cebu tours and cebu tours guide at the reasonable rate.

If you are planning your customized holiday to Thailand, Bangkok is surely a must-visit. It’s buzzing, humid and exotic. It’s where magnificent temples, historic markets, skyscrapers and rooftop bars create an intoxicating vibe that’s hard to resist.

And that’s not all about this city. With a perfect blend of the traditional and the modern, every corner of Bangkok can surprise and captivate any foreign tourist passing by to stay here as long as possible.

But within a limited budget of time to relax, setting up things to do there must be a trouble for you. Don’t worry, below are the top 5 best things you should do in your travel to Bangkok, check it out!

1. Visit Wat Pho to be impressed by the Reclining Buddha

Some travelers have described Bangkok as “Land of a thousand temples” and if you have a chance to visit this city, you will find out none of those above words are wrong. Even Google could not give out an exact number of how many temples are built in Bangkok alone but it is surely up to thousands. Some have just been built and some have been constructed from thousands of years ago. Among them, Wat Pho is what you should never miss out on your Thailand private tour.

Wat Pho is home to the Reclining Buddha, which has the impressive height of 15 meters and its length reaches 46 meters. The whole statue is covered in gold leaf and it is a really amazing view when you see it yourself.

Another interesting fact is that Wat Pho is one of the oldest temples in Bangkok. It existed before Bangkok was established as the capital by King Rama I. And it is on the top list of 6 temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples, which makes Wat Pho a must-visit on any Thailand customized tour.

2. Explore the Grand Palace

Beside Wat Pho, you should also go see the Grand Palace - one of the most famous attractions in Bangkok to catch a grasp of how the King used to live here. It used to be the King’s home and nowadays, it is where the administrative seat of Thailand government get their work done.

This palace covers 214,000 sq. meters, which will take you quite a lot of time to explore. But with its 236 years of history, there are a great deal of interesting facts you can find out when travelling to this place.

Besides, the Grand Palace has an amazingly beautiful design, it’s dazzling, it’s spectacular and it is an obvious evidence of how creative the craftsmanship of Thai people can be. On your holidays in Thailand, it would be a waste if you don’t spend time visiting this Grand Palace.

3. Ride Tuk-Tuks

Tuk-tuks (three-wheeled) used to be Thai people’s favorite way of getting around Bangkok before BTS, taxis, etc. took its place. Even though it has become less popular, it is still one of the most well-known and recognizable means of transport among foreign tourists. And undoubtedly, this three-wheeled beauty is long known as the symbol of Bangkok, which makes it hard for the visitors not to experience a ride on this unique means of transport.

Since riding on a Tuk-tuks is an intriguing experience rather than a practical way to get around the capital of Thailand, it’s worth giving a try if you are a first-time traveler to this city. But be aware of the scams – you might be overcharged, therefore don’t hesitate to haggle for the best price.

You should also pay attention to the traffic jams as riding a Tuk-tuks in peak hours (07:00 - 09:00, 16:00 - 19:00) might get you stuck in the congestion for hours, which is definitely the worst experience no one wants to have on their Thailand customized tour.

4. Shop till you drop at Chatuchak Market

Whether you are a shopaholic or not, taking a trip around Chatuchak Market is still a must-have experience on any Thailand vacation. There lies more than 8000 market stalls and a wide range of goods to captivate about 200.000 visitors to come here on a typical weekend. Some already have in mind what they intend to buy, others come here expecting the surprise at the sights of all the goods.

Whatever the case, most of them end up going home with extra shopping items in satisfaction. If you are travelling to this market for the first time, be prepared to get lost in the maze of stalls with almost everything you need to buy – clothing, accessories, home furniture, plans, Pets and so on.

But one thing you need to remember is that you should not hesitate to bargain and walk away if you can’t get the deals as the prices there are always higher than it should be. That is why sharpening your negotiating skills before going to Chatucak Market is a necessary and hassling for your favorite item is not bad, it might turn out to be the most intriguing experience on your Thailand private tour.

5. Go all out with the street food

A trip to Bangkok will not be complete without a taste of street food there. Thai cuisine has long been recognized for food lovers all over the world.

In 2017, seven Thai dishes appeared on a list of the "World's 50 Best Foods"— an online poll of 35,000 people worldwide by CNN Travel. Thailand had more dishes on the list than any other country, which proves how tasty its food can be.

And the capital of this country is where you can enjoy a variety of famous street dishes like Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Som Tam, etc. If you are planning the list of top dishes to try when travelling to Bangkok, below is our recommendation:

By: Nadova Tours

There are no live volcanoes around here, but plenty of hot water comes out from deep under the earth, manifesting as bubbling mud pools, geysers, and warm streams. Rotorua is also home to a rich Maori culture, sublime wildlife and landscapes, and plenty of adrenaline-packed fun. Here's a look at four cool things to do up here:

Canopy Tours/Ziplines

Rotorua Canopy Tours allows you to gain access to scenic views over the northern part of the North Island that will leave you inspired. In the canopy of the ancient trees, this eco-adventure will provide amazing forest vistas and plenty of adrenaline as you zip through the canopy. A fabulous way to chill out after amping up!

Zip and Roll: Experience the native forest on ziplines as well as swing bridges andtreetop platforms, then enjoy the biggest zorb ballpark in the world, rolling through the valleys and hills of the region around the Mokoia Island and Lake Rotorua. (If you haven't already heard about this, "zorbing" is rolling across the terrain in giant clear beachballs - quite an experience!)

Cave and Canopy Combo: Ziplining paired with exploring and tubing the underground river of Ruakuri Cave in the nearby Waitomo area, with its fantastic limestone formations and world famous glow worms.

Mitai Maori Village

No trip to Rotorua is complete without plenty of interaction with the Maori people. You need to get the cultural side of the space to truly experience it completely.

The bush setting in the Mitai village is authentic and will leave you contemplating the history of this warrior people. You'll get to see the traditional attire, ancient warrior canoes, and glow worms in their natural setting, lighting up the environment.

After a fun-filled, learning experience, you'll be treated to games, dances, and songs with a Maori concert, and no experience of the Maori would be complete without the Maori war dance, the Haka – sure to send tingles down your spine.

With combat performances and demonstrations of weapons that the Maori have used throughout their long history, this trip has something for everyone.

A Mud Spa and Hells Gate Geothermal Park

Hells gate was thus named by George Bernard Shaw because of the toxic smell of the sulphur coming up through the ground, and the bubbling waters that inspire awe in all that see them. Around Hells gate, you will experience thermal muds that have special healing properties, and whose ingredients are used in award-winning spas in the region.

After your mud bath, you'll enjoy a relaxing shower, and your blood circulation and level of relaxation will be at a new high. Hells gate is a must visit in Rotorua, and why not combine it with a mud spa?

Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

On Trip Advisor, this place has been rated one of the most surreal locations in the world. It's a visit that will surely get your mind racing and your senses tingling. With a natural Bush setting, and massive craters made by volcanoes, steaming vents and sinter Terrace formations, there is just so much to see in this geothermal geological site.

The Champagne Pool will certainly take your breath away, and there’s so much more available in this Wonderland and is priced very reasonably as well.

Wrapping up

These Rotorua activities are just a few of the combinations you can do as you enjoy a trip to this slice of paradise.
