Make an itinerary: If you are going to be travelling solo, it’s a good idea to make an itinerary so that you always have something to do. Take a look at Google for some of the best things to do in the area, whether it be museums, restaurants or night life. That way you’ll always be busy! Make sure to also note down any admission prices, times and ticket requirements so that you are prepared. 5 tips for men traveling solo

People like to travel alone for a number of different reasons. • hi my friend, have a great 2011, cheers!! www.mentawaisurftravel.com
  • Just joined the site & wanted to say hi. I often travel alone when my son is away and love to share news & ideas.
  • Report on eTurboNews about sex and travel: "A lot of people who are nice and proper here, do things more out of line when they are away," says a co-owner of the Toronto nightclub Wicked. They're doing those things in public, and they're even doing them at public monuments, which has gotten some people arrested.

"A summer-sex survey done by the condom maker Durex in 2006 found that people on vacation are most likely to have sex in a hotel room, but will also engage in amore in the pool, at the beach and on the hotel balcony.

"In Men's Health magazine, an article discussing the top reader-submitted vacation spots for sex included the Grand Canyon and a New York ferry."

Never thought of that -- and I grew taking that ferry.

"In Britain, a phenomenon called "dogging" has seen a rise of people having sex and watching people have sex in public parks."

The authors of Sex and Tourism: Journeys of Romance, Love and Lust have found that most of this sex is with the partners people are already traveling with. I'm not sure what they mean by "most."

In any case -- and on balance -- is this a good thing?

  • I have traveled solo several times. I am planning on doing some solo time in Wales and also in Tanzania. I find I actually become more sociable if I'm on my own. I seek out others in place of conversing with my companions. I've met lots of interesting people this way!
